EDMONTON - The federal government Wednesday reneged on its promise to contribute $92 million to construction of the Royal Alberta Museum, infuriating Edmonton’s mayor and shocking provincial officials who were forced to suspend the $340-million project.

“I’m tired of being screwed as an Albertan,” Mayor Stephen Mandel said. “I’m so disappointed that something that was so important to the city can be snatched away without any consultation.

“It is an absolutely unconscionable act. It’s not even about the money so much. It’s about the disrespect this shows to the city and the people of Edmonton.”

The federal government also refused to back Edmonton’s Expo bid and will not contribute to the proposed downtown arena.

Alberta Infrastructure Minister Jeff Johnson made the announcement late Wednesday.

Yeah, Edmonton screwed AGAIN by the Conservatives - see there are consequences to drinking blue kool-aid!

Too bad the sheeple here won't remember any of this come next election...

Perhaps they will come through on their promise for a new duck pond.

Hahaha. Me too, so I moved back to Manitoba. Thanks for the museum money, losers. :)
