MCA is an instrumental band from Moncton. Four of them came together in the summer of 2005 and started writing some mathy instrumental stuff inspired by bands like Aereogramme, Moneen, Choke, Q and not U, and so on.Their philosophy is to have fun, but to make fun really complex. well, kind of. Since the songs are instrumental, the instruments all take on more responsibilities. They don't like stagnation. They write collectively, and for each other as well. They respect each others' musical backgrounds and capabilities as well asTheir creativity. This constant collaboration works with strenght to bring about the best in all of them.

They just got this (myspace) page up yesterday and there's a rough version of one of their songs on there. they"ll try to update it and add some more info and fun stuff later on. Please check it out and let them know what you think.

THEY have a few songs up on this site but they are older takes. They've gone through a line-up change since january which left only Jonah, the singer/guitar/founder of this project, with a couple of new members. I believe the songs have a bit more umph now. You can go to the Paramount Lounge(main street, moncton)on April 13 to see for yourself.

There's also about 6 more songs (including some live) (and one new song written by the new bass player Eric) on www.Newmusiccanada.com that should be uploading and approved in a couple of days

There's 3 EPs they've been selling at their shows lately.

The 1rst one's called Orange EP and it's all electric full band stuff

The 2nd EP's also called Orange EP with a similar looking case but different look to it as well ? Anyways, its acoustic unplugged tunes with special different instrumentation beatboxing, djembes, darbukas, and other various percussion.

The 3rd EP's called C-sides. It's version of the songs best to listen to with headphone. Most of them are electronica and ambient. The mixing is very experimental. Lots of automation of FX.

Essentially, its the same songs they play live, just different versions and depending on the venue, they'll play the songs in that genre.
