Today's NDP maybe the left, but they are different than the CCF.

Completely ass backwards. Hopelessly ass backwards.
As absurd as the argument that because Tommy Douglas was a preacher, therefore he either wouldn't be able to distinguish discrimination or he'd support discrimination because the Bible said so.
If anyone in today's NDP publicly supported rolling the dentists into medicare, dropping all medical premiums, establishing a national agricultural or park land reserve, forming a state-run insurance agency, dropping tuition fees completely, they could claim back the 'socialist' tag.
The 21st century NDP are a shadow of 'left' compared to the CCF.

Thanks, you said the same thing I did. You said that the two parties are different. I love it when people agree with me. It does not happen to often on this site. :)

STERK WAS ASKED BY HOLMAN IF SHE WAS FED UP WITH THE ARTICLE'S SUGGESTION

"of course I was. I'm P.O.'d at every column that, you know, the pundits say, the political elite are all saying, the Green Party should just take a, take a, you know, just disappear, they should, you know, I should go and run for one of the other parties, I mean give me a break!"

It's no wonder that they, you know, were shut out.
