Rosie and I spent Canada day bobbing up and down on the waves of Lesser Slave Lake fishing. Rosie caught the firstt fish of the day on a Canada flag spoon. What a fish fry we had to celebrate our nations birthday.

Stayed home, sat on the back porch with a glass of wine and a good book.

I went to Fort York to indulge in some Canada Day / War of 1812 Bicentennial re-inactments, went swimming, watched the CFL game in the evening, then made it in time for the local Canada Day fireworks display

I actually bought a new bike last month to do more "all-mountain" riding, so riding more up and a bit more XC'ish trails.

But I prefer DH riding, but a lot of good trails you have to bike up to so I wanted a bike that could climb better.

Hung around a local park with family.

Quiet day. Spent most of it writing.

Oh, and enjoying the community of women which had clogged the park.

You know you're old when after a long, long winter you see all the young girls in their short shorts and swimsuits on Canada Day and think:
"I bet her Mom's really HOT!"
