There are still a few of the older ones left, but their numbers have been greatly depleted. Remember when you used to drive down the highway and you didn't need to read the highway signs because the name of the towns were painted on the grain elevator?
In addition to elevators being torn down, some large farms have bought and moved them for on-farm storage.
