Canada Kicks Ass
Liberal Corruption is a WIN-WIN situation for me

This whole Gomery mess is a Win-Win situation for me.

As I've indicated before on other posts, I am a hard-core Quebec Separatiste. I'm also a pissed off, right wing, 905'r, who despises the Federal Liberals and everything they stand for.

But I'm also sick of watching the rest of Canada dance to Quebec's tune. Since the last referendum, I've been a separatist, and would dearly love Quebec to go so that we can both get on with our respective lives.

In my perfect world, Quebecers could have their own country and be free to pursue the socialist utopia so many of them dream of, while the rest of us west of the Ottawa River would be free of the crippling transfer payments we're forced to cough up every year to keep Quebec in confederation. This would also allow the west to have a more dominant voice in Ottawa, which would suit me fine, as Albertans are pretty much the only people in this country who seem to have a clue when it comes to politics.

The result of this scandal, as i see it will be one of two things.

Either it will destroy the Federal Liberals and banish them to the political wasteland for a decade or so, which would be great.

Or, if we're really lucky, the sheep on Ontario will once again vote Liberal, thereby annoying the hell out of Quebecers who are far more angry over the scandal than English Canadians. I get irritated as hell with Quebecers and their constant pissing and moaning. But, I have to admit that, unlike the the imbeciles in the Maritimes and Ontario (except for me), they at least understand that corruption at the highest levels of government is unacceptable and it's the responsibility of the electorate to punish it when it occurs.

A tepid, Liberal win in Ontario could be the wedge that puts them over the edge, as Quebecers turn away from the Rest of Canada en masse in disgust at our tolerance of a federal system of patronage and corruption.

As i said, Win-Win.

What i've never really understand about sepertism, is it always talks about quebec being screwed over by what federally happens. Even though it hinders the whole country and turns the whole country against the current government. I mean you might as well just plant the seeds of sepertism in every province whenever something like this happens. You can't just say "oh yeah this affects us so let's just break off so it doesn't happen again". I'm sorry but even if you break off this will still happen. I'm not supporting the liberals, because I don't like them either.
