We find out who'll run this asylum this afternoon. Will it be Kenney, or will it be Jean and his band of lunatics?

Did @KayceeMaduYEG just post an Alberta Parks map titled "Desirable Land Acquisitions" with a big "CONFIDENTIAL" printed across it?

I hope Kenney gets 50% + 2 votes, so he can claim a 'clear majority', the party tears itself apart, the next election votes are split among 3 conservative parties and the NDP win.

Not that I've thought much about it.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has WON his UCP leadership review.

Final vote was 51.4% yes.

resounding win he resigned, eh?

Scape @ Wed May 18, 2022 8:47 pm

He saw Dr C's post and figured it was his best move.

He knows his time is over. Time to go back to Ontario and try to fool those voters into electing him to something.

Klein resigned with a 65% vote of confidence in his leadership. At least he had the integrity to know that wasn't enough.

Time now to see how they can make it that much worse by choosing the most idiotic redneck imaginable to be the new leader/premier. Danielle Smith or Brian Jean? Might as well kick any remaining moderates out of the UCP altogether if one of those two Lake-Of-Fire pandering idiots wins. Remember, it can always get worse and Kenney will end up being remembered the same way most conservatives before him have ended up being remembered over the last twenty years - he really wasn't any good at his job but he wasn't as bad as the ones who replaced him turned out to be. :|

It's fun watching the race to the bottom. Not so fun being one of the citizens on the finish line though.

We'll be in for the same old Alberta version of the Trump years no matter who wins. The next boss will also have about a hundred "communications advisors" on the public payroll in his/hers office and they'll also live on Twitter as much as they possibly can because fuck you that's why. And the same dumbed-down and thoroughly insincere aw-schucks language will continue for the alleged benefit of the so-called "real" Albertans who apparently can't deal with details (or facts) in their lives anymore, and who only see governing as a vehicle to impose ideology & not to actually, you know, govern the place efficiently & effectively to keep it from crashing over a cliff again.

Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose. It'll be the same old same old with the new leader because IMO almost all of them on the conservative side are interested far more in being the center of celebrity-style attention than they are in governing. It's nothing but game-show hosts & crooked realtors in charge of our provincial fate from the Kenney years on down.
