a rocking sensation here on the 12th floor. Students are all chattering like a bunch of agitated chimps. It's not that damn bad

   

6.0 on the east coast of the island straight across from us in Taitung. Guess I was wrong.

   

Any damage?

   

Not here, it was only a 2 or 3 here...there'll be landslides on the east coast and in the mountains though.

   

Just had a 6.3(according to the CWB) on the east coast of the island near Hualien. We swayed a little but that was it.

Just checked with the USGS site and they have a preliminary reading of 6.6 about 250 km off of the coast. There'll likely be a tsunami warning for the Pacific coast...which is where all the surfing takes place.

   

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

   

We just had a 6.4 about 15 minutes ago. This one was close, out in the county, by a station. My wife tells me that the chandelier in our living room was shaking like Shakira. We usually avoid the worst of anything because we sit on a coastal plain and the seismic waves don't travel so well in dirt.

   

Just tell your students it was a fat kid running down the hall.

   

Some of them slept through it. They had just gotten off of rounds.....heheheh

Shit... Haiti, Chile and now Taiwan. That's too many big quakes in too short a time span for me.
