There is an Unknown Canadian in Mazargues as well:
You may notice the poppy placed at the foot of the grave.
It's one of the poppies that Yogi sent me last year.
After taking that picture, I buried the poppy.
Hopefully, that poppy will stay with this man, in the French sun, forever....
You just reminded me................I never sent you the ones I had!!
You Da Man !!!
Some pics of Marseille:
First, lunch at the Quick, the French version of Mcdonalds..
not very good though.
very nice hills around the city:
the beach:
All the motorcycle shops in Marseille are on the same street,
these photos dont show the chaos it creates...
Last, be careful using a GPS to get around
Garmin says this is a main road:
Day 2, Rhone American Cemetery.
Panel listing the missing, there are 4 of these
There is a chapel behind the monument:
nice water feature on the side:
Taken from the monument, you have to give credit to the Americans,
they keep their cemeteries in absolutely perfect condition:
Dragoon was mostly an American operation, many US units involved, including the 36th and 45th division.
Here are some of our American cousins from the 1st SSF..
