Carmanah's headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities are in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The Company also operates an additional manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta.

Has anyone had any experience with either company or home solar power?

No sun---no solar energy---pretty cloudy here in balmy Southern Ontario in the winter. Clear skies at night are not much help.

The visible spectrum is being blocked but overcast skies still have energy. Also, the batteries store power for the rainy days as it meant to be a supplement to power that can drive down the costs of the hot water by 65%

If the government goes through with that carbon tax, I won't be able to afford any of that stuff.

Wally_Sconce @ Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:36 pm

Only homes that have been evaluated using NRCan's residential energy assessment service will be eligible for a grant.

$1:
The grant amount is based on each of the recommended retrofits you have completed and the relative impact the retrofits have on the energy efficiency of your home. For instance, replacing your gas furnace with an ENERGY STARĀ® qualified furnace will achieve a high level of energy savings and will therefore have a bigger grant value. You will be able to apply only once per property.A grant application must be submitted to NRCan no later than 18 months after the date of the pre-retrofit evaluation. You can expect to receive your cheque within 90 days of your follow-up evaluation.
