Mask mandates and passport mandates lifted:

Pro-maskers: How dare you not wear a mask? You're putting everybody at risk.
Me: Competent health authorities have lifted mandates. I think they know better than you.

   

If it was just some repellent fathead like Jason Kenney, who put his incompetence and maliciousness on full display for 24 months in a row, now saying "yay hooray everything's OK again! you don't need masks anymore!" then I'd still be wearing mine when I go outside. When it's the reliable socialist commies in BC though, who actually did a decent job of managing the epidemic (as opposed to Alberta) who are bringing an end to the mandates? Then it's time to relax a bit and enjoy the moment.

I didn't wear masks because I liked doing so. I did it because it was the right thing to do based on the evidence that was presented. And I'll probably be wearing them again come November because the combined cold/flu/COVID season is getting early projections that it's gonna be a doozy. Until then though? Not gonna wear one if I don't need one. As per Stone Cold Steve Austin "that's all I'm gonna say about that!".

   

I'll probably continue to wear one for a bit. For how little I go out it's not a big deal to me.

And that particular leadership did it on purpose because they rely on intense tribalism to maintain power. In Alberta with the UCP it's politics first, second, and third as far as their priorities go. Actually governing is far down the list of their interests and concerns.

First day back to work after mask mandates lifted on Friday here. I'd say it was about 50/50 with/without, though I noted the definite differences in certain demographics, which I won't bore you with. No snide remarks/comments about my choice in wearing one, which was a good thing as I was not in the mood today for childish attitudes considering other issues going on.

Bizarre though that the signage remains in my condo (posted everywhere) with the threat of a $200 fine if caught without a mask though I have seen many people over the last several months not bothering though there has been no mention of fining people in the strata minutes. Not sure what to make of that.
