Strutz Strutz:
Well, it could be all done tomorrow night.

It would be nice if the Knights could pull off one more win at home for their fans, Strutz. Never-the-less, win or lose, the Vegas Golden Knights have made NHL history by becoming the first expansion team to reach the Stanley Cup final EDIT - in their first year in the NHL and that in itself is no small thing.

What about the Blues?

Note: Sorry, I don't have a tongue in cheek smilie.

Major league socialism really went into overdrive with the Knights and I'm glad to see the Caps doing well against them. Plus Ovi deserves a ring.

Congrats to the Caps.

Congrats Ovi, you fully deserve that ring.

Agreed. I’ve been an Ovechkin fan since he first started lighting up the league and he truly deserves this.

And so does the rest of the team too. [B-o]

Vegas winning would have been a better historical story, I could care less about Washington. A dull crappy series compared to how much fun the previous three rounds were. Glad it's all over for four months at least.

Glad to see Washington win tonight. [B-o]

It was a good game overall to watch that easily could have pushed for a game 6.

It was especially sweet to go watch it at our favorite pub. Quite a crowd, most cheering for the Caps but some for Vegas too. I ended up winning a prize draw that was done. Vegas jersey #71 Karlsson. No idea what to do with it for sure yet.

Congratulations to the Caps! They played a great series and they were not going to be denied. I am proud of the knights. They had a great year. They came along at the right time. They gave one of the most transient places on the planet something in common other than a shared tragedy. Millions of people who had never watched a hockey game before are now diehard fans. It was the sport that they did not know that they loved, and the team that they did not know that they needed.

The Caps were the better team. They won the cup. Congrats to them. The Knights won our hearts. I will be at their parade even if I have to blow off work.

I thought the games were fairly exciting - only one lop-sided result. Overall, though, Bettman's expansion to the NHL has dealt a grevious blow to how interesting I find the Stanley Cup, bringing in all these teams down south where such a small proportion of the population has any interest in the game although the initial enthusiasm in Las Vegas is a welcome sight. God be with the days when the Flames were in with a chance. In my darker moments I see a Russian oligarch buying the Leafs and shaking up this cosy cartel, a far better fit sportwise for a hockey-mad country than owning Chelsea. Chrystia (cc Justin), if they can make the Leafs win, I don't care what they've done.
