hmm....

Pakistan is trying to develop Gwadar as a port city just like Karachi

And then definitely Pakistan has a right to also construct a naval base there just like we have in Karachi....and China being a close ally can use that if NEED arises.

Everything is logical here.

China has right to protect her interests in far away lands just like US has right to do so.

Every big player in geopolitics protects her interests.

On another topic: the fight b/w Chinese and Indian troops in Himalayan borders is hilarious. Stones and sticks..That's how two most populous countries on planet fight each other  But it is also good that loss of life is being prevented by not clutching to guns...

China is dominating so far. Indians are in panic. If it was not for Mr. Floyd's death, I would have posted thread about it.

I think I will post that thread soon :)

On this topic, funny thing is Americans themselves are deployed in Pakistan...in an airforce base; as a maintenance crew of F-16 jets.

There is a rivalry b/w US and China : Who gets most foothold/influence in Pakistan.

I think Americans are not liking a competition here

This has fuck all to do with the U.S. The worlds two most populous countries (who both happen to be nuclear powers) are having a border dispute. This border dispute has led to war between China and India in the past. Pakistan is India's greatest enemy. For Pakistan to allow China to build a military base in Pakistan is kicking a hornets nest. This is one of the poorest regions on the planet. Children living in cardboard boxes, and begging for food. Women being raped because they do not have indoor plumbing. How many poor people have to die so you two can keep wagging your dicks? If the shit hits the fan, its all on you. Lets be honest, it the shit does hit the fan the U.S. is the big winner.

China getting their asses kicked is good for the U.S. Also the U.S. is going to be selling weapons to at least two out of the three countries involved. Prices for oil will go up, which greatly helps the U.S. You people are the ones that is going to be doing all the dying, we will be rolling in the chips. So go ahead and kick that hornets nest all that you want too. Keep playing your stupid "who has the biggest dick" games with India. You three loose. The U.S. wins big time.

If I believed in conspiracy theories, I would think that the U.S. somehow put this all together. Its brilliant! China gets a good ass kicking. Their economy goes down. The U.S. wins the lottery without loosing a single military member. You fools do all the fighting and dying. Fucking brilliant!

Beijing is looking for distractions from the COVID disaster and India should not oblige. Unfortunately, Modi’s party is infected with a virulent strain of Hindu nationalism and cannot be trusted to work in the broader national interest which would require better relations with all neighbours, including China but especially Pakistan.

Finally someone with some intelligence shows up in the thread!!! :D But seriously, How is India NOT going to respond? China building military bases in Pakistan is a MAJOR shift in the balance of power in the region. No country would, or should allow themselves to be encircled in such a manner. Lets not forget that India has always had close ties with Russia. Most of their military kit is Russian. We have the makings of a very serious conflict here. Russia, China, India, Pakistan all going to loggerheads for what? A distraction over Covid 19? Calmer heads need to prevail here. India's never ending dick waving contest with Pakistan, and their border disputes with China need to remain separate.

I think that the U.N. has been as worthless as tits on a bull for the most part of its existence. If they ever had a chance to stop a bunch of extremely impoverished people from getting killed over nothing, now would be a good chance to prove that they should stay in existence. These people spent all that blood sweat and tears freeing themselves from colonial rule. Now they are going to kill themselves over a dick waving contest for regional bragging rights. Its pathetic. Screw the distractions. Screw the dick waving. This 20th century way of thinking needs to stay in the 20th century. Its time to progess as a species.

China's been buying up Africa to grow food. They want a base on the Indian Ocean. Probably dig up some old eleven dash line map and start the same shit there.

Fairly cunning on China's part, to make pals with Pakistan in order to hem in India. Everyone forgets that the Chinese and Indians aren't too fond of each other and have gone to war. Given the vacuum existing in American foreign policy right now, which consists of little more than "what have they done for US lately?!??!?" ranting on Twitter from Douche Emperor in the White House, China filling the void in Pakistan that the US has vacated only makes sense. Good luck to the Yanks on getting some of these allies back, no matter how dubious they were as pals, because China certainly won't give them up as easily as America abandoned them. :|

They aren't coming back.
I think we are witnessing the end of the USA as the world policeman when it comes to things like oil and other trade.
Because they don't need it.

As far as the Chinese having a base in Pakistan, read some history of Singapore.
Not much to worry about, anyone can pick off any Chinese ship at any time.

There’s hemming in going on all over the place. In its efforts to weaken and bypass Pakistan, India has good relations with Afghanistan and helped develop a port in Iran. China is doing something similar to its Pakistan project in Djibouti, Myanmar and Sri Lanka:

$1:
The 2017 establishment of a naval facility in Djibouti in the Horn of Africa, China’s first overseas military base, part and parcel of a new Chinese strategy aimed at strengthening Beijing’s influence far beyond its shores.

Chinese interests in commercial ports such as Gwadar in Pakistan, Hambantota in Sri Lanka and Kyaukphyu in Myanmar are indications of the heft Beijing is putting behind its Indian Ocean push. All of those commercial ports may serve a dual-purpose, potentially allowing China’s navy to use the Indian Ocean-facing facilities as logistics bases.

If America retreats, China will advance.
