Even though French President Macron has (suspended/postponed/cancelled) the proposed carbon tax on fuel the Yellow Vest revolt continues to expand.

Various sources on the web right now report that 89,000 to 98,000 French police and military are being mobilized and sent into the streets to augment the beleaguered municipal police and the Gendarmes.

One quote:

Revolution: A French newspaper is reporting that the so-called “yellow jacket” demonstrators who have staged violent protests in Paris and around the country in opposition to the government’s imposition of massive fuel taxes related to climate accords could be preparing for a coup attempt on Saturday.

As such, French authorities plan to deploy 8,000 police in Paris alone with another 80,000-plus riot police and gendarmes around the country, various reports have said.

French intelligence services have reported to the Elysee Palace, the official residence of President Emannuel Macron, following “calls to kill” and “carry arms to attack” government officials, parliamentarians and police, according to Le Figaro.

A coup? Really?

Seems a little dramatic to me.

I'm wondering if the propaganda about a coup is actually just a pretext for allowing the use of deadly force against French citizens who oppose being robbed by their government.

If I'm right then we're going to see a lot of dead Frenchmen in the streets this weekend. Maybe even as early as tomorrow.

If the blood starts flowing then the ironic thing is that Macron could end up with the revolution he's trying to stomp out.

FRANCE LATEST: PRESIDENTIAL SOURCE SAYS 'THEY ARE PUTSCHISTS', MASS ARRESTS AT HIGH SCHOOL NEAR PARIS

Fearful rhetoric is coming from the highest levels of France's government as a source at the Presidential Elysee Palace told the "Le Figaro" newspaper that the 'yellow vests' are attempting a coup.

The source was quoted by "Le Figaro":

"They are putschists. We are in a putschist attempt"

A "yellow vests" protester told a television program on BFM-TV Wednesday night that he hoped to be in the Elysee Palace on Saturday.

But the protester, Eric Drouet, set the record straight from his perspective in a Facebook video today (Thursday). Drouet said in part:

"I do not call for hatred. I say we must go peacefully. We must stop stigmatizing the yellow vests.....
I never said that I wanted to go to the Elysee to break everything, but to be heard..."

146 were arrested today (Thursday) outside a high school a few miles northwest of Paris in Mantes-la-Jolie after clashes with the police.

More than 700 high school students were arrested across France on Thursday.

Speaking before the French Senate today Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced the deployment of "exceptional resources" this Saturday along with the mobilization of 65-thousand police.

He upped that number to 89-thousand by the time he appeared on television this evening.

News reports speak of authorities moving beyond the usual tactics of tear gas, stun grenades and water cannon to include use of armored vehicles to help push the protesters off the streets this Saturday.

Also being discussed in the media is the use of the army Saturday purportedly to protect "monuments" like the Arc de Triomphe which was a center of protest last Saturday with damage reported.

Truck drivers unions are calling for strike action on Sunday while the BBC reports this:

"....One police union, Vigi, called for a strike of its administrative staff working in the interior ministry for Saturday-saying that without the support of such staff, the police would be immobilized.

'Our hierarchy sends us for a beating instead of the government,' the union said, calling for solidarity with the yellow vests..."

The popularity of President Emmanuel Macron is at 23 percent, even lower than the popularity of his predecessor, Socialist Francois Hollande, who was at 24 percent popularity at his lowest point.

74 percent of those polled in France say they do not trust Macron.

Maybe not a coup, but maybe France will have another major constitutional change and emerge as the Sixth French Republic.

It's down to 18 percent now. If Saturday is bad, he may have to resign.

This is a revolution coming soon to Canada.

When, exactly?

I mean, I've been waiting for some of the things you said were 'coming soon to Canada' for years now. I just want to know if I need to stock up on sundries now, or if it can wait a generation or two.

How long do you think Canadians on the Left and Right are going to stomach Trudeau's continuing attacks on blue collar workers? Macron and his lap dogs attacked blue collar workers and look what's happening now.

What attacks? Trudeau is a flake, not inherently evil like his predecessor. Harper was the one who actively attacked our freedoms, under the usual guise of 'security' and 'terrorism'. "You are with us, or you are with the child pornographers". Remember that??

I do. Wasn't that Vic Toews?

Why are you crediting Harper for something Vic Toews said.

That's pretty good. I like this one even better.

And yeah, I can see the Macron/Trudeau comparison. And before Macron was revealed as a globalist shill, traitor, enemy to the working man, a lot of the people who deny it now were bragging about it.

Morning was relatively quiet, over 500 arrests already as police set up
inspection stops all over Paris.

They now have armoured vehicles moving through the streets, and it's not quiet anymore.
And it's only 2pm, usually it doesn't get wild until nightfall.

The French Lugenpresse is saying 31,000 protesters across France, 8,000 in Paris.
It's more.
