Yes, guys.

He is about to land in US tomorrow, accompanied by military leadership as well.

Will post more here. Thought it deserved a separate thread as after long time Pakistani leadership will land in US (a far away country we had quite close relationship with since 1947).

Mr. Khan has departed from Pakistan. It'll be 3 days visit.

He will have two meetings with Mr. Trump and will also address Pakistani community at Capital One Arena (a stadium in the downtown of the Washington DC) with a seating capacity of above 20,000 persons most of which had been booked already with more people still registering themselves to attend the event.

He will arrive in Washington on Saturday afternoon (local time) and stay at the ambassador’s residence in the city’s diplomatic enclave.

During the premier's stopover in Doha, he was hosted by Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker, Radio Pakistan reported.

The decision to take a commercial flight has been touted as a bid to "save taxpayer money". The government has repeatedly promised that the entire trip will cost a total $60,000 to the exchequer — significantly less than the much higher expenditures allegedly incurred by past chief executives.

The Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Donald Trump have met before — on Twitter, where they sparred. Next week, they will be meeting in real life, as Khan heads to Washington, D.C., for a three-day visit.

Washington: Up to 30,000 people are gathered at a community meeting of overseas Pakistanis in Washington DC on Sunday (early Monday in the UAE).

The main guest of honour: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan. The scene is a proud moment for Pakistanis around the world.

The PM, a former international cricketer, received a rockstar's welcome as he appeared before the massive crowd, along with some members of his Cabinet.

Pakistani PM Imran Khan begins a three-day visit to the United States of America on Sunday, and is set to address a record gathering of members of the Pakistani community at a stadium in downtown Washington, D.C

Millions more viewed the event via livestreaming from home.

Imran Khan and his entourage reportedly flew to America on a commercial, instead of chartered, flight to save on cost. The premier delivered a speech about the benefits of meritocracy, a relentless fight to curb corruption and laid out his vision for "Naya (New) Pakistan", words that energised the crowd of US-based expat Pakistanis.

During his speech, the PM said: "Pakistan was made on the basis of a massive dream. The dreams of two great leaders. Quaid e Azam and Allama Iqbal. I want you to tell your children In the US what this dream was."

He also told the crowd: "23 years ago, I came into politics. I said one thing & on that same note I‘ll end address. I said that I have never bowed my head in front of everyone to date except for Allah. I‘ll, InshAllah, never let my nation bow their head in front of anyone."

The Capital One Arena has 20,000 official seating capacity. Tweeps point out that there were thousands more seated in the playing field.

"You’re looking at the largest gathering of Pakistani Americans in history," according to a Pakistani-American at the scene

At the moment, the hashtag #PMIKJalsaInUSA is trending on Twitter.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Washing on his maiden trip to the US.

He will hold talks with Donald Trump and reboot bilateral ties that were hit after the president publicly criticised Islamabad, cancelled military aid and asked it to do more to fight terrorism.

Imran, 66, is scheduled to meet Trump at the White House on Monday during which the American leadership is likely to press him to take “decisive and irreversible” actions against terrorist and militant groups operating from Pakistani soil and facilitate peace talks with the Taliban.

During his three-day visit, Imran, in addition to his meeting with Trump, is also scheduled to meet IMF acting chief David Lipton and World Bank President David Malpass. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will call on him on Tuesday.

The cricketer-turned-politician arrived on Saturday afternoon and is staying at the official residence of the Pakistani Ambassador to the US, Asad Majeed Khan.

He was welcomed at the airport by his foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. A large number of Pakistani Americans also welcomed him.

Nawaz Sharif was the last Pakistani prime minister to visit the US on an official trip in October 2015.

What is pleasant surprise for me is that even US national anthem was played before Khan speech.

The large and enthusiastic crowd, coupled with the image of Pakistani and American flags in the arena, underscored for me a basic but important point: Diasporas can play a potentially (I emphasize the term "potentially") powerful role in bilateral relations. #PMIKJalsaInUSA

The political angle of Imran Khan's Capital One event, which targets Pakistani-Americans, a largely affluent & fast-growing diaspora, shouldn't be understated. His PTI party has had a big presence in US long before 2018 (and before 2013 too). Many PTI fans in US

From what the radio said yesterday. It's going to be kind of low key. They'll have the meet and great in front of the press. Then talk in private. It is cool that his visit is getting at least some attention. Closer Ties to Pakistan I hope will help ease any tensions in that area between nations.
