Its been snowing since this morning and the roads are slippery... looks like a good night to stay home and watch a movie. (i wonder if we have have any wine?)

Hyack @ Fri Jan 26, 2007 6:35 pm

Beautiful warm and sunny...not a cloud in the sky...will be wearing shorts...t shirt and SPF 40 tomorrow ...[but]... 8)

ziggy @ Tue Feb 06, 2007 5:37 pm

Plus 10 yesterday and people were out in their shorts, today is a different story as it's dropped 20 degrees celsius and sounds like more to come.
We had rain last night which brought down the 20 foot high snowpiles last night but she's froze now and slicker then pig shit on the roads.
Being at the start of the Rockies we get strange weather,2 miles to the west its -20 and here its -10. The cold front is spareing my little valley so far,the rest of Canada isnt doing so good. We have a nice ice fog happening here now, visibility is at 1/4 mile. Kind of peacefull, movie watching weather.

Snow and more snow followed by snow squalls and it's freezing cold, yesterday it was minus 36 with the windchill. I'm not sure how cold it was today, Burr. Ziggy you have a great view.

DonnaWho DonnaWho:
Wow Ziggy you have a great view!

You bet! No neighbors to the west, just a Mason hall and a mountain,Livingstone range to the east,I quad right from my driveway. :o

The city folk will be taking over soon. :?
Last private land in the Alberta rockies just got discovered,10,000+ condo's and Canada's biggest mountain resort coming to a mountainside near me soon. :x Were going to be another Banff(puke!)

Still,I have deer in my yard every night, sometimes a bear cruises by,they have to walk right by my place to get past the one mountain range and hit the plush mountain valleys to the west. This is the Crowsnest Pass and the only way through the mountains into BC is that little notch you see in the one pic and its only wide enough for a river,a road, and the CPR tracks.

Last pass in the Canadian rockies to be discovered, shortest route to the coast, and the most scenic.
The natives didnt want the whiteys here, they were told of curses in Fernie(just up from me in BC)and when escorting CPR scouts they would often lead them astray or have them murdered.Thats one of the reasons it was the last pass to be discovered and the rail line was built through the Rogers pass instead.
Dont think I could ever leave the mountains.

I could live in Winnipeg, they recorded a record cold temp today, think it was -43 celsius. 8O Now that's cold! Glad I live in chinook country.
Those poor bastards!

ziggy @ Sat Feb 10, 2007 6:56 pm

Anything east of the Alberta/BC border is probably pretty cold,it's gone from -20 to +1 today, right now it.s warm and melting.

Ripcat @ Thu Feb 22, 2007 8:40 pm

Perma white outs. I was blinded by my own headlights! Not that I could see the road directly beyond the hood of my car through the blowing snow anyway.
