Thursday, Sep. 06 2012, actually.

What was this advisor there to do? He wasn't balancing the books. He didn't help negotiate this agreement with debeers. It seems like it was just a way for the feds to run up a huge bill so they could claim they had given them more money than was actually available to them.

Update from the original article Dec. 9 2011. Big surprise that you have no idea what was added or modified.
As for the rest......your ignorance knows no bounds.

And neither of you clowns can answer.

What was deloite & touch there for other than to gobble up money and export it from the community?

Sending a legitimate company with highly educated staff to Bumfuck Ontario to deal with untrained, uneducated and entitled people for $1,300/day is gobbling up money??

Curt get out of the hood and see how the rest of the world works.

Curt, why are you so afraid of accountability with FN's reserves? What scares you?

Why don't you expect the same standards from these people as you do from your own Government of which you've been very critical of? Why do these people get a pass but if Harper was do act like this and keep such poor books you'd be all over him for not using a period at the end of a sentence.

You're so far behind yourself, you often have no idea what you're taking about. The manager sent to the reserve was from BDO not D&T. Deloitte did the audit and wasn't involved in the management of the financials and all funding from the Government.

For someone so passionate about the issue, you're often very ill informed on the actual facts of the situation.

This spring and summer will see a vast change in how FN issues are dealt with. I'd be willing to bet that many FN groups are planning major action on blockades etc and the public are going to demand action. The cops won't do anything and a provincial/federal crisis will ensue. Our gonad free leaders will be forced to act.

The reservoir on sympathy for the natives is running pretty dry. I don't see good times ahead in 2013.

If you guys don't do anything disgruntled folk will. Don't think people will tolerate Caledonia on a national level. Pretty sure there'll be violence due to police inaction

He doesn't actually care about accountability, he just likes
to have a chance to blame anything and everything on the kitten eater.

There are plenty of very annoyed cops at the shop-floor level. The bosses are trying to dodge the bullet but I reckon that's a course of inaction that is past it's sell-by date. It will take a crisis to change. One is coming.

Its worse than that. The Harperites own report showed that it wouldn't do any good. Its hard to even say it was worth a shot, knowing that.

DeBeers says they have given Attwaspikat 325 million in contracts. Attawaspikat says they have realized 100,000 in profits on these contracts. Something is wrong here.

Creative accounting perhaps? 8O

Maybe they hired the same people or person to handle the DeBeers account as they did the Government one.

Well let's be fair. It could just be complete incompetence, no malfeasance involved. But it has to be one or the other, seems to me. And a good reason why Ottawa should insist on oversight.

"The mine — 90 kilometres west of Attawapiskat — has a large aboriginal workforce, but First Nation has complained that its share of the bounty from the mine isn’t getting back to the community."

The "community" meaning the chiefs personal piggy bank.
