BluesBud BluesBud:
Jean Charest is trailing in his riding in Sherbrook by over 450 votes
Now down by 1000 votes. I think he is now toast. Somebody is going to have to give him their seat to be in the house.

As it stands right now, It will be most likely be a minority government by the PLQ.

The ADQ is really getting momentum. WOW! This is actually pretty good.

As long as the PQ is in the basement, this is all that really matters (héhéhéhéhé)

The PQ cannot even get 30%, which is really shameful. So there you go Elvis, go cry with your separatist friends. [laughat]

Oh man, I am laughing my ass off over here. This is great to see the PQ drowning like that. Awesome !!! ROTFL

As a side point CTV's Net coverage sucks. Very pretty map with lousy load time. Very frustrating!

CBC is not nice to look at but the info loads fast and seems more uptodate

Jean Charest's margin is sliming he is now trailing in Sherbrook by 250 votes.

Arctic_Menace @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:50 pm

Please no seperatists in control of Quebec. Please, please, please.....

BluesBud @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:52 pm

Well they maybe down but not dead. In a minority Government they can still make things tough going.

fire_i @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:01 pm

And the new premier of Quebec is...

No one.

Barring a comeback, Charest loses, although the Libs win.

What a strange election! It's like every convention of Quebec politics has been shattered. All except one : other than the Libs, every single party in Quebec tends to last only a single generation. Is the PQ going down for good? Who knows. Will the ADQ take its place? None can tell.

It seems to me this election is not the important one. The next two are. We might just see a major turnaround in Quebec politics, the turning point being March 26 2007.

I must say I'm a bit sad I was way off in my predictions all along (at least the minority Lib government I expected without telling ended up happening, that's already that), but then, pretty much no one saw this coming.

Arctic_Menace @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:07 pm

The Liberals will form a minority government in Quebec. and the ADQ will form the official opposition. This should be an interesting few years.....

fire_i @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:14 pm

It will be fine... it will be fine... for a while there we almost had an ADQ government. Almost. It was close, but we avoided disaster...

ridenrain @ Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:17 pm

Either way, Quebec is going to cost the rest of Canada more money to keep them in the country.

Can we safely assume that this is the end of our separatiste nightmare?

As for the ADQ, their suddent popularity owe too much to the popular discontent with the PQ and the Libs to mean anything in the longterm. They still have everything to prove to be a viable party. Still, maybe we are witnessing the birth of a tree-party system. I'm glad.

Nick-the-Canadian Nick-the-Canadian:

I'm new to this forum. We can write in both french and english? Is everyone somehow bilingual?
