Has anyone ever heard of Claude Dubois? Has anyone ever heard of the Canadian Hall of Fame Gala Show? Has anyone ever heard of the CBC being accused of being "racist"? Does anyone believe that next year the show will be 50% French?

Of course, not that the CBC didn't try but no joke....the arrogant English CBC couldn't get their even more arrogant French counterparts to talk to them.

This phrase we've of course all heard or muttered: "F--- you, Toronto," (Dubois told Le Journal de Montreal)

"Dubois's career spans more than 40 years and includes performances with such leading Quebec singers as Gilles Vigneault."

Whomever that is.

"I am not looking to be known in English Canada," Dubois said Thursday.

He's achieved his objective.

"I am looking to be respected as a francophone in the same way I respect anglophones. Nothing more, nothing less."

Considering his remarks about Toronto and the English I suspect he's achieved that rather low expectation as well.

Right off the bat he needs to understand what a race is.

Wasn't he the guy who invented goat porn?

Gee, last time I checked the French were a mixture of Celtic and Germanic peoples...same as the English. This term gets bandied about way too often and is usually used incorrectly, but its incorrect use by this in-duh-vidual is understandable, seeing he's not an English speaker.

"The broadcast was an attempt to capture a three-hour gala in 44 minutes," said CBC spokesman Jeff Keay.

Cutting all of the francophone singers from the Toronto concert broadcast was a too easy solution.

Easiest solution when the francophone reps won't return your calls.

This is the same as not checking your mailbox and cursing the host for not inviting you to the party.

Or didn't you read the article?

What should they have done then? Kidnapped these French singers and made them sing at gunpoint? (Or at least they would have had to force the audience to listen at gun point. (French Quebec music gives me the creeps, except for Mitsou.)

"The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame indicated it tried to convince CBC executives to include Dubois's performance on account of the popularity of his latest album, which has sold some 250,000 copies."

"The only people that gave us the time of day were CBC, the English network," he said.

"We could not even get in the door of Radio-Canada. Our French directors tried to get a French broadcaster and failed."

250,000? Ya know, they actually sell real purpose designed coasters.

Radio-Canada has almost become an empty shell.

While she was definitely easy on the eyes, she had a voice that....well.....makes Shania(another piece of eye candy) sound like an angel.
