[QUOTE BY= fleur-de-lys] Comment ajouter cette photo ?
Avec Img ça ne marche pas
[/QUOTE]

No, the image tags '[img]' are disabled. We pay for bandwidth out of our own pockets here, so this was done to keep costs down.

As for the election, I'm glad the people of Quebec decided 'enough is enough' and saw past the rhetoric and voted for a change that would do them the most good.

The federal Conservatives have shown that a minority government is best because in order to get anything done, compromises must be made. What gets done then benefits more people.

Two thumbs way up.

"The federal Conservatives have shown that a minority government is best"

I agree, it's just too bad we cannot vote specifically for a minority gov, which means that they only come about by random chance. A proportional voting system would help make it more likely that minority govs are installed, which is why the two big party's will oppose such a thing, while the smaller party's are more willing to promote it.
[QUOTE BY= fleur-de-lys]Moi qui croyait qu'il serait possible de faire un référendum en 2008, il va falloir attendre.[/QUOTE]

The blackmail through threat of a "referendum" is getting very tiresome, apparently for the people of Quebec as well as for everyone else. There are other provinces with a heck of a lot more reason to want to leave the federation than Quebec has. Take BC and Alberta for example.

It looks like the last budget was a calculated error for Harper, which put a smile on my face.

fleur-de-lys @ Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:24 am

I've hosted the image, I have the url, it won't cost you bandwidth... anyways

What ? BC and Alberta have more reasons to leave Canada than Quebec ? explain ?

Our nation is very different from the ROC !

And by the way, eventhough it's a minority government, it's a bad thing for Quebec.

Jesus cross will stay at the parliament ( only Boisclair wants to remove it ), it has nothing to do here because hopefully state and religion is now separated.

unlike Liberal and ADQ, PQ was really for education, environment and social services.

And most of all, Quebec, as a nation, won't have the right of self-determination.

fleur-de-lys @ Thu Mar 29, 2007 5:59 am

Stephen Harper will refund a part of tax imbalance only if the Liberal party of Quebec is elected ! That's scandalous ! The Federal blackmail us when they said they won't solve tax imbalance if we voted for PQ !

It's our money that they owe us, not a gift from the federal. They should refund everything but they will never do that because they are thieves and that's one of the reason why Quebec need independence.

No, it's Alberta's and Ontario's money they give Quebec! Quebec recieves far more in federal transfer payments than they pay in federal taxes. Quebec still spends more than it recieves in income, and you want a refund???

What are you talking about ? Quebec is a rich province. We lost money in equalization (Alberta and Ontario too) and yes the federal will only reduce fiscal imbalance, not refund all our money.

never heard about PQ's zero-deficit ?

[QUOTE BY= fleur-de-lys] What are you talking about ? Quebec is a rich province. We lost money in equalization (Alberta and Ontario too) and yes the federal will only reduce fiscal imbalance, not refund all our money.
[/QUOTE]

Quebec *was* a rich province, until Debt Servicing became a major part of the budget. Since Quebec recieves more in federal equalization than it pays in federal taxes, how is this a loss of equalization? How can you refund, when you already spend more than you earn?

It's a very simple calculation. Find out how much Quebecers pay in federal taxes, find out how much Quebec gets in Federal transfers, perform a subtraction. It will be a negative number, meaning more transfers than taxes paid.

[QUOTE BY= fleur-de-lys] never heard about PQ's zero-deficit ? [/QUOTE]

Yes, I've also heard of Bonhomme and the tooth fairy.

Go and do your homework, then come back and we can talk. The quality of your arguments so far is quite lacking. {cracks knuckles} And I am in the mood for a well reasoned and informed debate.

Fiscal imbalance exists. Both PQ and PLQ (QC liberal) asked to solve it, Federal Liberals denied the imbalance, now Harper recognized it but like I said only because Charest is elected he will give a part of it. IMO, and in the opinion of Yves Séguin (PLQ), Bloc Quebecois and probably the PQ, GST tax should be given to the provinces.

I hesitated, I almost voted for Québec Solidaire, a leftiest sovereignist party, I don't think their's a chief, I only heard about spokemen Dr Amir Khadir and Françoise David.

PQ is a social-democrat party but André Boisclair is a centrist. Landry realized zero-deficit but he cheated, he declared the one year old surpluses as incomes of another less profitable year. Boisclair wants to reach a real zero-deficit.

I finally voted PQ, I like my candidate, Louisanne Chevrier. I played pool with her and we talked about politics. I agree we should tax those american compagnies who bottle our public water to sell it here and around the world. I agree we should not privatize Mont Orford.

Alberta is rich now because they have oil, let see in 20-30 years, Quebec have a vast territory and our power is water, thanks to René Lévesque for our nationalized hydroelectricity.

"I finally voted PQ, I like my candidate, Louisanne Chevrier. I played pool with her and we talked about politics."

Come on fleur-de-lys, don't be so naive. Should Quebec separate from Canada, it would be sold out in a microsecond by the PQ or whatever separatist government does the deed.

You ought to know as well as everyone else in here that we're all getting shafted by forces far larger than even the whole of Canada.

It should be obvious that the best thing for the circling vultures is to see a fragmented and weak Canada.

I'll say this again: There are many people with far more reason to be pissed off at the confederation than the people of Quebec (how many are imports these days anyway?). You laughed at my suggestion that Alberta and BC have more reason to separate, well then you must be familiar with the Acadian people of NS, PEI, and New Brunswick. Now that was SHAFTED!

Besides, who the hell is perfectly happy with the federal government and confederation anyway? But here we are, most likely for a damned good reason!

We can either disintegrate alone, or band together and fight for a truly free and strong Canada. The separatists have all along been playing into the hands of the treasonous bastards who lurk both in the forefront and behind the scenes. You must know this, else you are childishly naive - at least I hope so otherwise you'd be a willing and knowing participant in the destruction of Canada *and* Quebec.
fleur-de-lys @ Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:38 pm

In 1980, the people of Quebec decided to vote for the "NO" side because Trudeau promised change. Result: less power to the nation of Quebec with the canadian charter of rights and freedoms (it neutralize the Bill 101), mulitculuralism do not work, we are just a minority ethic group for you. We remember the Meech Lake Accord and we will never get fooled again by the federal gov.

We must destroy federalism

rearguard @ Thu Mar 29, 2007 1:59 pm

"We must destroy federalism"

Federalism is not the problem, corrupt politicians are. Quebec has its fair share of corrupt politicians, and believe me should Quebec ever separate your perceived problems will NOT go away.
fleur-de-lys @ Thu Mar 29, 2007 9:43 pm

When René Lévesque founded the PQ, he created policies against corruption in its party. For example, corporations can't give money to the party, only individuals can. I think every party should do the same.
