Québecers live in the best country in the world and have the rights and freedoms that go with it. There is no injustice, no repression, and loads of tolerance.
Why would any intelligent person advocate the separation of Québec? For historical reasons? Get real! Educated Québecers know the benefits of the Canadian passport and citizenship. Its the policitians who have grandiose ideas for themselves. Right now Mme. Marois is spouting the separatist propaganda because she sees a slim chance that the PQ could return to power. The reality is that Québecers do not want separation and want the government of Québec to concentrate on jobs and the economy. Québec belongs in Canada and I very much doubt separation will happen any time soon.

Good. Then should one day a majority of Québecers democratically choose independance, they can be assured that Canadians will react with fairnesss, tolerance and without any feeling of avenging wrath.

Québecers only belong to themselves, as it should be in a free country and so they will decide what is best for them and Québec, whatever you say or think about it.

Well this Québecer and his family will never vote oui in a referendum. Jamais!

Never say never! :D

The only claim to sovereignty they have is a narrow strip along the St Lawrence. The northern 3/4 of Quebec was never formally, legally ceded to Quebec, and a constitutional lawyer said no one has ever given him a credible legal arguement for the northern 3/4 of Quebec being part of a sovereign Quebec, especially as the majority there are aboriginals, who don't support separatism.

No Québec government has yet signed the Canadian constitution either but it does not stop Québec from still being a Canadian province.

Once sovereignty is chosen and declared by Québecers, the question of its territorial integrity will be protected by international law. Territorial partition will occur only if Québec wishes to negotiate that aspect of it with Canada. How about partitioning a bit of Québec territory to Canadians but in exchange, Québec takes back its original nation's name, Canada. :D
Or would Canadians simply prefer grabbing Québec's territories by force ?

Strange. The English version of that seems to not load.

But if you think you are taking Labrador with you, then yes, it will be kept by force.

No avenging wrath. Just a buh bye. And forget about using our passports or dollar, and make sure you pay your share of the federal debt on the way out. Oh, and be sure the give the Cree the same fair vote and react without avenging wrath as they vote to separate from Quebec and stay with Canada.
