Hi Chris, I haven’t been fully following this thread but in reading some of the posts I am appalled that so many MPs and /or their staff have not heard of SPP which is after all the subject on a government web site (even if mostly disinformation). That they do not even follow your links to find out says it all! If an when an election is called we must each question the candidates on their knowledge and position on this. Thanks for your persistence on this, keep it up.

Anyway here is an idea.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Here is a description of a cartoon I would like to see widely circulated but don’t have the skills to produce.

The scene is a football match in a large stadium. The field is flat and level. The center line is at least 2/3 of the way down the field towards the Canadian goal which is at least twice the size of the U.S. goal. The small athletic Canadian players are faced by at least twice as many brawny somewhat overweight U.S. players. The ref is a NAFTA official, the linesmen WTO, SPP can be seen erasing part of the center line and switching Canadian water bottles and equipment for same with U.S. logo. The poorly dressed and equipped Mexican team can be seen behind the U.S. goal surrounded by a border fence and kept in line with border guards. The crowd is largely bankers and corporations with a scattering of government lackies, the few common folk in the stadium are relegated to the nosebleed seats. The Corporate crowd enter via VIP entrance without any delay or having to pay, whilst the crowd of common folk are held up outside by close examination of their paperwork, bioscanning, and “interviews” by U.S. and SPP officials.
The U.S. coach can be seen in conversation with a surveyor and a NAFTA official saying “Well it is a level playing field”.

You can take it from there, lots of room for little details in the crowd etc.
That's a picture alright! Welcome to the thread.

Here's NEWS:

Montana Legislature Passes Anti-NAU Resolution
By Mary Benoit
Published: 2007-04-19 15:06

On April 18, 2007, the Montana Senate passed H.J.R. 25, a bill that opposes the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), the developing North American Union (NAU) and the NAFTA Superhighway. The final vote was an overwhelming 32-18.

Montana is the second state to have passed, in both houses, a resolution opposing the SPP/NAU agenda. The first state to take a clear stand against the agreement was in Idaho with the passage of H.J.M. 5 in both the House and Senate. The Utah legislature passed a similar resolution in the House, but the Senate let the bill die by refusing to vote on the resolution prior end of the congressional session.

Aside from the three states mentioned above, at least 14 other state legislatures have introduced resolutions opposing the SPP, NAU and the NAFTA Superhighway.

The John Birch Society is very pleased to see these resolutions pass in the state legislatures and is thankful to our member-activists who have worked diligently with Congress to ensure their passage.

For more information in the North American Union visit the website for the John Birch Society's newly launched Freedom Campaign.

http://data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2007/billhtml/HJ0025.htm

Story Link: http://www.jbs.org/node/3527

Chris: AGAIN, the Americans are moving to stop this. What in the hell are our representatives doing? They DENY and they LIE!

Update: Anti-NAU State Resolutions Growing in Numbers

Colorado is the newest state to have introduced a resolution opposing the North American Union into the state legislature.

The number of anti-North American Union (NAU) resolutions that have been introduced in state legislatures is growing almost by the week. The current number of states is now a healthy 18 as Debbie Stafford, a Republican state representative, introduced H.R. 7 in the Colorado legislature.

In part, H.R. 7 states:

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-sixth General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

1. That we urge the President and the Congress of the United States, and particularly Colorado's Congressional Delegation, to withdraw the U.S. from any further participation in the Security and Prosperity Partnership; any efforts to implement a trinational political or governmental entity among the United States, Canada, and Mexico; or any other efforts used to accomplish any form of a North American Union;

2. That we also urge the President and the Congress not to engage in the construction of a
North American Free Trade Agreement Superhighway System.

http://www.leg.state.co.us/clics/clics2007a/csl.nsf/fsbillcont/296E42F1EDE3698C872572660078AA92?Open&file=HR1012_01.pdf

SPP Feb 23rd, 2007 Meeting Minutes Request via Freedom of Information Act has been filed and payment made. Now we wait while they send me the information. I will post it here as soon as it arrives.

Next SPP meeting scheduled for June 26-29, 2007. Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, George W. Bush, and Mexican President Felipe Calderon will meet in Kananaski, Alberta for the planned third summit of the Security and Prosperity Partnership. I will also be making a request for the Meeting Minutes a few weeks after the meeting.

Hmmm wonder if the Calgary press will be on the scene? This could be interesting....maybe we should ask Julian to invite himself as the only MP voice(so far) of the people on this issue. After all shouldn't the 'stakeholders' be present, or at least a representative?

Chris Harder @ Thu May 10, 2007 9:59 am

He should indeed. Connie Fogal should also (infiltrate) attend.

I've obtained the meeting minutes and plan to fax them to Vive once I get the number...

Way to keep on this Chris. I'll email you my private fax number.

It's no surprise that the offices of MPs only want to respond if you're in their riding. That's just the way it works, unfortunate or not. It should be an impetus for everyone reading this to send a letter to their own MPs and ask them if they know about the SPP and the process of deep integration, and send them some resources--might I suggest our timeline on this site, and some of the information on the SPP etc in our FAQ. Perhaps this is something we can organize as an official action on this site, having members and supporters write and meet their MPs to educate them on the issue and report back to us. (One quibble Chris--the SPP etc won't create one country out of the US, Canada, and Mexico, but one harmonized region).

Re the NDP, the main person responsible for work opposing the SPP within the NDP is MP Peter Julian and so I'd suggest contacting his office. He's the one who is sponsoring a petition to stop the SPP. Any NDP MPs you contacted really should have referred you to him anyway, since that's the way it's supposed to work when critics are assigned to specific issues and areas. Surprised they're that out of touch with what their own party is doing--but it's hard to hire good help.

I like the strategy of passing state (or in our case, provincial) anti-NAU resolutions. Perhaps this is something we should think about pushing for on a Canadian level--provinces opposing participation in the SPP? Of course, that means actually making our provincial politicians aware of what is going on, which will be as much of an uphill battle as getting MPs to understand it. But I'll start by talking to my contacts in Alberta and seeing how we'd go about doing something similar here at least, which may help others try it in their own provinces.

Another sell-out Main Stream Media propagandist exposed!

It just goes to show how over-inflated egos and a false sense of self-importance will get the best of these people every time.
