watch out, the language police are after you, just one small step aside from the thought police.
Get a rope!

Gee, he's Foreign Affairs Minister, you'd think he could learn a few languages.
Is it possible to have a "John Diefenbaker" accent when tweeting in bad French?
Someone is looking to justify the existence of their job.
He's using his personal account here. That's not something anyone else should complain about....that or they need to learn English.
While I can be as partisan as the next guy, this is just ridiculous.
If they want more tweets in French, then they should hire a staffer or two to write them for him. It's not realistic to expect that someone who isn't fluent in French is going to tweet in it.
I can speak some German, Japanese and Chinese, but I never tweet in anything but English.
On the ironic/funny side, his two most recent tweets were in French!

He is also an MP from the Ottawa area which is, along with bits of New Brunswick and Montreal, the only truly bilingual place in Canada. You'd think that he could squeeze out the occasional
"la plume du ma tante".

https://twitter.com/HonJohnBairdYou really think Baird or any other pol or VIP writes his own tweets? They have people to do that for them. Maybe he has a private account, but then I bet it doesn't have his name attached anywhere in case he says something stupid.

It's funny. I wrote it properly and then went back and changed it.
Maudit bloke, eh?

La plume "de" ma tante.
...Est sur le bureau de mon oncle
I can still remember a language training module back in high school:
"Ce ne pas un chat! C'est un chapeau!"
... as if they are somehow interchangeable.
Switch over to Gaelic then. That's go fuck yourself wrapped in plaid.
