Hey guys, if you had to pick ONE attraction to see in Calgary, what would it be??

And, does anyone know if the Air&Space museum or the Av Roe museum is worth seeing? The people at the Tourist information centre had never even heard of the Av-roe museum...

COWBOYS bar downtown ...the girls have to be a ten to be let in the door .
I can't think of a really good attraction but one thing Calgary is big on is their 500 trillion light years of bicycle paths through all of the cities entire park system including fish creek park ,Glemore Reservoir , the bird sanctuary , edworthy park , princess island park , Bowness park ,Nose Hill park etc ... That would have to be the best thing by far in Calgary because comparatively to the west coast, it is quite lame . There are alot of mosquitoe infested man made community lakes you could enjoy but Calgary is not big on science ,roads or infastructure .

its rainin and thundering like crazy in Calgary now! We dont have storms like this in Vancouver. Luckily we got in my car before it started.

   

The Stampede is Lame. If you spend any time in Calgary you'll find the weather changes every five minutes ...it may even snow .

   

so aparently this storm... lol was bigger than normal. The news is saying its the worst in Calgaries history....ok?

The bobsled ride is a must but is a bit pricey. I want to say $75 pre run but it's been years since i did mine

   

You should check out the Kananaskis sometime. It runs from #1 trans Canada east of Calgary to Coleman Alberta.I did a road trip there today,didnt see a soul for 2 hours driving.The "Gap" is a slot in the Livingstone mountain range that leads to Maycroft and the praries.

I've been to the Avro museum. I think it is privately owned. If you are an AVRO fanatic or are just curious and have the time, go see it. The guy who owns it has built a scale model that, if I recall correctly, he was planning on flying. The AVRO ARROW is this man's passion, so you will probably get as much out of talking to him as you will from his exibits.

There are also the restoration projects along McKight Blvd. Of particular interest is an old Lanchaster bomber. When I lived in Calgary, my relatives from England had to see this.

   

I believe the "Avro museum" closed down....at least he's not in the same building in Ogden any more.

   

Trevors not far from the creationist museum in Big Valley either. Take #22 north of the trans Canada(east of Calgary towards Brooks) towards 3 hills and head east at Elnora,take you straight to big valley,turn left BEFORE the tracks or you'll zip right by that town of 350 people.

Oh and for the record the Big Valley road is 2 miles north of Elnora
