Danielle Smith: I was astonished by her

We had a right-wing conference today in Montreal with a lot of panelists.
The first one was Danielle Smith from the Wildrose Alliance who spoke about the ideas Alberta and Quebec share and also about federalism and the equalization payments.
It was in English, everybody (or almost) understood her and people who asked questions asked them in English even if there was a translator.
I'm totally jealous. How come you have that great woman and here we have Duceppe, Jean Charest and Pauline Marois ???? 
Very jealous.
She spoke for over an hour and she totally "converted" the entire room in her speech. We gave her a "stand up" ovation. People of Alberta, you have your next leader and it ain't PC.

btw, i'm not so fat. I don't understand why I look that way in a photo. I'm very slim. Maybe I was trying to be bigger than Mrs. Smith

Wildrose is a breath of fresh air. If we had something like them on the federal level the cons would never have to worry about minorities.

You know you hate it too! No, I don't mean that I hate when women are involved in government...in fact, I think that we need to have far more representation that actually represents our population.
What I hate is when a conservatively-based party chooses a really, really attractive leader! What's my left-leaning ideology supposed to do with that?
Meticulously sift through the issues?
Judiciously weigh the pros and cons?
Soberly evaluate the level of debate?
How on earth am I supposed to pay attention to any of those things when the winning smile is all I need to be reduced to a shy puddle of admiration? Honestly, would Sarah Palin have even come close to the level of attention she garnered if she looked like this?
So here, right now, I send out a call:
To all you lovely ladies of the left...RISE UP! Run for office! Let's fight this right wing fire with some hot, hot, HOT fire of our own*! We know you're there...we see you at the rallies and the fundraisers! Let's go!!
