Actually I will be in Alberta tomorrow my grandfather died and I'm going to a funeral. Maybe I should swing by and throw a few eggs or knowing the weather there they would be ice balls before they left my hand.

Wonderful stuff. He's Liberal, ergo you are supposed to utterly despise him and throw whatever you can at them. I see that the doctrine has worked perfectly. We are such gentlemen in this country.

*crosses out 'Re-'*

To bad he doesn't come to Medisin Hell...., Er, Medicine Hat. Actually, he'd probably get shot, knowing the people here.

Hey maybe Dion won't like being pelted with stuff and will give the bumpkins the finger. Then they'll have something new to whine about for a few decades - "Oooh the nerve of that guy! How dare he give us the finger!"

Pitty that couldn't be reversed.. :D

I understand he'll be taking a page from the Chretien book and throwing everyone in Calgary in jail untill he's gone. The'll bus in a load of seniors though, because they already sleep through speeches.

Since no one went, here's the news clip:

First trip since winning Liberal leadership
By CP

EDMONTON — Liberal Leader Stephane Dion says he will be the best federal friend Alberta has ever had if he becomes prime minister.
Dion says Alberta faces the dual challenge of explosive economic growth and environmental challenges.

He says a Liberal government would review the oil and natural gas tax structure with an eye toward giving incentives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as the use of fresh water by the energy industry.

Dion says he would also bolster research and development of new technologies such as so-called “clean coal.”

The Liberal leader says he looks forward to working with Alberta Conservative Premier Ed Stelmach, whom he is planning to meet during his visit.

He says they share a bond because they were both dark-horse candidates who came from behind to win their party leaderships on the same day in December.

Aw... Isn't that sweet:Stephane Dion, the best federal friend Alberta has ever had

Here's what some other Liberals said to Alberta:

Paul Martin:

“I have said essentially that there are two areas that I will deem my mandate to have been a failure. One is the issue of western alienation, which I don’t believe is a myth. I think it is a reality, and I am determined to do something about it…” (#)

(Sneaks in more cliché again!)

Jean Chretien:

“I am delighted to be back here in Calgary.”

“It is hard work and concrete action — in a spirit of respect, listening, honest dialogue, and partnership — that I, as Prime Minister of Canada, offer Albertans and all Western Canadians in the years to come.” (#)

Pierre Elliott Trudeau:

“I am sorry that we have not more members, particularly from the prairie provinces… we will do our best to ensure our policies apply in fairness to them.”

“I will make sure that if we can succeed we will show the parts of Canada where we are not as strong as we like that we intend to be the government for all Canadians.” (#)

“When westerners speak of alienation, I know they refer not solely to the lack of economic opportunity. Many are at least as concerned with the “lack of leverage” in national decision-making. They want a stronger voice in national affairs.” (#)

Sounds kinda familliar, right?
