Helicopter speeds up Alberta deer cull

Deer are nothing more then pests. Aside from disease and crop damage I recall a statistic from a decade ago that claimed deer were responsible for more human deaths in Canada then all other animals combined and doubled.

It simply amazes me how far left the government in Alberta has gone since dropping the hunter training program from the junior high schools. For example, you can't shoot these problem deer from your porch anymore and F & W wonks have too much search and seizure power and are even able to hide on your private property to observe your hunting habits. You'd think these deer were spotted owls or black footed ferrets. Meanwhile, they are out culling 1400 deer from one zone alone.

   

Oh sure, play the Bambi card.

Reminds me of my oldest daughter ( 18 ) when she was in pre-school. Anyway, went to pick her up and the teacher wanted to have a word with me, seems they were reading the story of Bambi and when Bambi's mother was shot all the kids were predictably crying or uncomfortable but my daughter stood up and proclaimed that it was OK to shoot Bambi's mother "so long as you eat all parts of her". The teacher thought I'd be concerned about her supposed lack of sensitivities but I was pretty damn proud.
