I spent the day on the Simonette River yet again. (Really quite like that river)
Spent the day Fly Fishing for species that I have only till very recently fished for and up until now, not caught. The rivers have finally cleared and the fishing is starting to pick up. I caught my first Walleye on the fly today. I landed 4 in total, released 2, kept 2. The largest was a very impressive 63 cm. specimen. I was pretty happy I can tell ya. Fish fry tonight...
I did see a very rare species of Alberta duck today. They must be rare due to the fact that the don't spook off easy and must be easy prey for predators. This guy just tried to play dead or something in the hopes I'd walk by. Too bad his colour gives him away. I just took photo's and left him alone...They have some strange critters in Alberta.
