Well here we are....... Alberta seperation! Lets be honest, Alberta does not need the rest of Canada anymore. Our economic status alone should qualify for distinct soceity, and if it doesn't, we could certainly afford to buy it. According to eastern we already we all ready have an official language: Redneckese, with such common phrases as: "Yall", "Yeonto", and my personal favorite "The bible don't say nothing about about queers, gettin hitched." As far as Canada's national splender goes, WE have the mountains, and yes we can afford to transport all 5 great lakes to the vast open spaces in our province. Besides, the rest of Canada is going to need the money to try stay ecomonically viable after we leave.

Now unlike the typical redneck, I realize that we can do this alone, so we therefore would like to send a personal and warm invitiation for BC, and Saskatechewan to join us. This would make things obviously easier for all concerned. You would get to join the winning team, and we wouldn't have to invade as soon as we were on the verge of running out of oil. (were looking at you Sask) As far as Manitoba goes.........who the hell needs Manitoba?? I personally want nothing to with a place that gets below minus 40 in the winter, and in the summer has mosquitos the size of bees. Maybe if you ask real nice you can join Ontario.

Our currency would of course feature our head of state, and cheif defender of the faith, his holiness Ralph Klien. A strong Alberta for strong Albertans!!!!!!! Where the rivers flow with liquid gold, and the only cut used on a cow is a steak. LONG LIVE THE INDEPENDANT STATE OF ALBERTA!



Sounds just a little ridiculous doesn't it? A unified Canada is the best Canada for everyone, Alberta, Saskatechewan, and Quebec included. So why don't everyone of you seperatists take your heads out of your asses, and smell the sweet smell of this country, instead of the smell of what has been coming out of your mouths for the last 40 years?

Besides the fact its greedy albertas land was given to it as a province of canada not as an independant nation so i'm pretty sure the rest of canada would demand some compensation

   

Whoops, I voted for yes simply because the begining statement was funny, well actually I wasn't paying attention. I don't actually advocate Albertan separation.

   

No, greed is 40% taxes when you're running a $9,000,000,000 surplus. Greed is funneling tax payer money back into your party. Greed is not using said money on valuable programs to aid all Canadians. Greed is not putting some of it back into Canadian pockets. Greed is putting both the employment insurance and the Canada pension plan into general revenues to create "Balanced Budgets" in the first place. Greed speaking of land, is taking it forceabley from first nations people, leaving them to rot on reserves, looking the other way when aborigional monies are squandered at the cheifs level and never makes it to the average resident of the reserve where it is needed. (Before you ask Im white). And if we Albertans are greedy, then you must also lump Quebec right in there with us.

Ontario? I was talking about what if the other two have provinces joined Alberta.
Although yes our government isn't immune from greed, the one thing i think is not greed is the surplus(if the money is used to pay down the debt) every time we pay down the debt the interests goes down and we save money leaving more to pay down the debt once its all paid down and we have no more interest payments we don't have to tax anywhere near as much. We have a choice we can spend more now to ultimately spend alot less, or keep paying large amounts of interest.

   

All of what you mentioned has gotten worse under the last three Liberal administrations.

Foreign aid should be suspended until child poverty is eradicated. I don't believe that both can be funded as we've seen an increase in child poverty while trying to increase our foreign aid. It is immoral that one dollar leave Canada for some black hole, when there are Canadian children going to bed hungry and malnourished.

   

I agree with Shepardsdog and It can be done quickly and easily unfourtunatly it dosn't look good. AND honsetly although it is common sense it really tugs on the emotions to not help the starving kids on telethons

   

Something has become blatently obvious to me....... Avro either can't read, or if he can he doesn't read all of someone's comments before responding. If you had bothered to read on, I advocated the use of those funds for social, and other benifical programs for the Canadian people. What you have done, is had a typical Ontario knee jerk reaction to something you don't like, or something you don't agree with, without getting all the facts first. I am familier with this as I lived in Ontario for a year, and followed countless elections where Ontario, Southern Ontario in particular, has allowed greed to continue at the federal leve.

Next time I urge you to actually read all of someone's post before reacting, it might have made you seem a little less like a fool if you had this time.

And speaking of greed, how much money has the Ontario Automaker's recieved from the federal government, including tax breaks, and Kyoto exemptions, because they can't run profitable bussiness without them?

They have the $$$ !!!!
Every people will receive 400$ !!!!
They paid all their debt !!!
They got the oil !
They will get more tourisme ! ( people will go to Alberta, not Canada )

And seriously, for the "currency". I think a new currency will appear. Like the "Euro" or something.
But it will be equal to Canada


But you will play on the "National emotional" side like :

On the political side :

They will decide their Inter-national relationship !!!
They will decide all what will going on in Alberta !
They can choose their laws
They will control their border

On the cultural side : Seriously, i don't even know if you have a culture, or it's the same of Canadians. but

Your culture will growth
Your kids will get models who look more like them ( Albertans artist or Athlète )
If you get a good artist who go around the world, he will promote Alberta ( Media will say his a Albertans not Canadians )

Environnementaly :

You will decide what to do. ( I hope you go "Green" a bit... But it's your choice ! You can make $$$ if you want )
Your naturals ressources will be totally yours !
