Wild Rose party
All I can do is hope that the WRA doesn't form the next government. The PCs aren't great, but they are nowhere near the extreme right like the WRA is.
Hopefully Calgarians will have more sense than to vote for those boobs (Edmonton traditionally votes more centre or left - Lib and NDP) so that should prevent them from forming a government.
I may end up holding my nose and voting PC come next election. And then hell will promptly freeze over.

I do want them to win, just as I want all the Teabaggers to get elected in the US. The only way out of this mess is for people to once and for all see what a fuck up the rightwing creates. I knew the US folks hadn't been spanked hard enough by the George Bush recession, and they's start mewling as soon as Obama tried to actually make some changes. They need another kick in the pants. And Albertans getting a kick in the pants is long overdue too.

Kind of like boiling a frog, eh?

Well no, that's the problem - they frog is being boiled by gradual heating, so it doesn't feel anything and stays in the pot. A good immersion in hot water is what's needed.
Maybe that's exactly what you meant.

Yea, that is what I meant. If we wind up with a minority government (led by either party), that's like putting the frog in cold water and turning up the heat. The PCs will slide right, or the WRA will slide left (or at least less right), and the difference will be harder to notice. If either gets a majority, it's either status quo or total overhaul.

Why is it that, whenever I hear "Wild Rose Party", I picture something like:
