My uncle and step-grandfather were staunch NDPers and very proud members of the military.

Then your uncle and step-grandfather were staunch supporters of a party that, today, would gut the military to the point where we wouldn't have the tools to do the job. Not very good thinking if you want job security.

But if the NDP ever were to get power (and I hope that NEVER happens) I'm sure our new pastel uniforms would look good handing out candy to third world refugees while singing Kumbaya or some other asinine tune.

Sad but true. I still remember the NDP platform in the 80s to pull us out of NATO and declare ourselves neutral...the NDP has had some good leaders (Broadbent for one) but I would never vote for them on a national level.

Ed Broadbent would have made an outstanding leader if he was anything but an NDP politician. I think if he could he would probably smack most of todays NDP party right in the mouth for their stupidity. :lol:

I realise it is only cadets but you are the ONLY person I know who supports the NDP and wears a military uniform.

I know a lot of cadets who are Liberal.

Also, my grandpa(from Quebec I might add) served as a tailgunner in WWII and was a Liberal.

I would, but I know they'll never get in, but I do like a lot of their platform on social issues and environment, and I vote for them to support them.

While I vote for the candidate who is most appealing, they are most usually an NDP or Liberal anyway and Ottawa's core loves that.

Perhaps, but I think he'd spare Paul Dewar. He's a good NDPer. :wink:
