Mtbr was not banned from any particular recent event, but from his record of temp-bans, warnings and general conduct on the forums. This banning was a result of the NOTICE FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS declaration and has been discussed for some time.

   

Dare I ask WHY now, and what the hell is going to happen with ALL the others who have temp bans, warnings and talking trash about others?

   

I don't like him either. I reported his behavior on several occasions. Good riddance.

   

So is everyone someone doesn't like reason enough to ban?

Seriously though... liking someone or not is not a reason for deletion, imho. If that is the case, then where do we end up?

   

its nothing about liking or not liking him, its the fact he constantly broke forum rules, hence the warnings and bans. There was a clear warning last month, and people that have not taken the head of the warning are going to get the axe.

   

Hello people... For a very long time I was the only mod here and things went well that way.. Trev was busy promoting and workin on the site as well as school etc.. As the site grew it became a chore for only one person to be able to do the mod duties properly and It was decided by TREV who is the owner if this site and the one who ultimately pays the bills etc, so that being said he does have the last word on how the site is run.. he in turn tells his mods what he wants done and how he wants it done, and we mods take care of things for him.. There are lots of discussions behind the scenes that go on all the tiime when any one member gets out of hand or has numerous complaints against them.. All complaints are looked into.. every time a member reports a post a message goes to all the mods who then look at what was said done etc.. we do not go public and tell every one .. that member A has been warned x number of times for blah blah infractions etc.. The warnings are tallied and added up and there is a certain point that action needs to be taken for the well being of the site, the members who do follow guidelines and the general public who happen to stop by from time to time and look over the site and forums.. If a person who's never been here before looks in and sees that people are allowed to behave badly , eg name calling harassing other members racsism etc they will not think, of this site as a nice place to become a member of.. So.. Its not a case of who likes who or who is buddies with whom ever.. I have banned/suspended members who have like myself been here since day 1 so to speak, and its not who is my freind.. And when I see members who start to second guess mods in public forums.. well thats just bad form.. If you have an issue with a mods decission message him in a PM and talk about it..dont harangue him in open forum.. all that does is cause bad blood amongst members and staff.. All the mods here are doing this job for the love of it.. we are not being paid, we are doing it because we enjoy being a part of this forum..If things are so bad that you are not happy.. well you have many other options.. One that comes to mind immediatly is to go find another forum, or better yet start your own, host it on an expensive server set up as Trev has done.. Find dedicated people to help as I had done for years and then you can run it as YOU see fit.. Just a couple of suggestions

That's generally how moderated forums work. I've been on a few, and although I don't always agree with hope they're run, the fact of the matter is that regardless of popularity, you break the rules - yer gone.

Been on a couple of unmoderated forums that make this place look like posting heaven. I'd sure as hell hate to see things move in that direction.

   

This is not about breaking rules. If it was about that, he should have broken a rule TODAY for the mods to have a good reason to ban him. Just randomly checking out people and thinking: Hey, you've been warned lots over the years, (contributed a lot too, but hey, who cares) lets just randomly ban your ass now, is imo not a good way for a forum to go.

The threat made that a couple of people are going to be banned is not really a nice one either...

Another point is, that if you don't agree with a decision made, and you take it up with the mod, it always ends up in a powertrip: "I punished you, take it or leave it, even if you don't agree, or it was pretty much bs anyway."
Which means people take their complaints to Trev, who has more to do than listen to our whining.

   

Nope not at all.. Say if a person joins a group such as the Masons as an example and he dont like the way the group is run, he has the option to leave the group and find a group more to his liking..If the rules are too hard for him to follow then, he needs to find a place where the rules are to his liking or a place with no rules at all then maybe he will be happy.. But this site is supposed to be a fun place where all members can come exchange ideas and not worry weather another who had an opposite view is going to shit all over him because he dont agree.. so its not fit in or fuck off as you so crassly put it..also when you sign up here you agree to abide by the rules set forth for all members here.. thats the guideline.. So you behave badly, = you are breaking the rules= you will be punished.. cant make it any more plain than that
