I guess many of us would like to hear the real reasons from the one who pressed the botton!
Now since Abbas wasn't notified before being banned and many of us would like him back, I consder it appropriate to ask for public explanations.

I would also like to make it clear: I am not an advocate (well... he doesn't need one!), i just want to know!

This is why we need to reform the Moderation on this site. The current system doesn't work.

Regardless of whether or not Abbas should be banned, this is bullshit with him being jailed, people complaining, him being released, then being banned, more people complaining... on and on and on.

I'm no longer donating to the site until something is done.

Welcome to Canada. Somebody has to have a backbone. And put a lid on hate and kill religion.

Well Admins are the only ones that can ban aren't they? So that must mean trevor did the deed...

hey! I just want to know how it works! And do think the person should be notified and told the reasons before being banned. What's wrong about it? It's not my fault Abbas became the precedent!

It should probably be more open to avoid these types of discussions, but why are we always automatically taking Abbas at his word and challenging the mods. I've been here over two years and I've never seen people call the mods on much until Abbas got here. Are we being overly sensitive because we want to appear tolerant? Now if I was banned and I really wanted to come back I would send Trevor an email pleading my case. Trevor is ultra liberal, I have no doubt if he thought Abbas was tossed unfairly he would give him a second chance. Like I said in the other thread, I have no personal problem with Abbas but I'm not going to say he was banned unfairly unless I know why.

It says his account was de-activated. Maybe he asked to have it removed?

Do you mean put a lid on hate AND kill religion, or put a lid on hate-and-kill religion?

That easy to answer: Abbas is.

He had several warnings from the mods about his behavior and he chose to ignore those warnings.

I do miss him and I sincerely wish he had not been banned. I may have ardently disagreed with him but he had principles within the context of his culture and I find myself respecting him for that.

But there are rules here and he needs to obey them much the same as he, as a muslim, needs to obey the laws, rules, and customs of the Canada he so despises yet benefits from.

Abbas is responsible for his ban, regardless of whoever may have acted to ban him.

Much the same as a criminal is responsible for his being arrested regardless of who called it in or of who actually arrested him.
