This is going to be a short post, because I'm off to the tent as we speak, but anyone in the HRM area should be checking out the scene this week!!!! Free shows at the tent on the corner of Spring Garden and Queen, and lots of great shows in the evening all over the place!!!

Thanks guys, it's been awesome so far.... staying out this late on week days isn't probably making my work day very productive, but it's well worth it.

Just got back from seeing this guy, Seckou Keita

I don't think I'd ever heard a Kora before (not what's shown here - a kora looks like a harp crossed with a lute, which is likely why it's also called a lute-harp), and I'm pretty sure I've never seen one live (playing fusion jazz, no less), so this was really interesting. All the shows I've been to so far have been great (though I know a few of the musicians, so I have a bit of an advantage of knowing where to go), so this is another reminder for anyone around here to check out a show!!!
