CAR INSURANCE IN HALIFAX NOVA SCOTIA

Car insurance, has got to be the biggest rip off ,scam sham and thought out plan there ever was.
I have recieved an no insurance ticket while at the time and continually paying for a policy. 1250.00 it is going to cost me . So in the end. I paid 3000.00 dollars to get a ticket. I am fighting it but it is a battle . I am looking for a probono lawyer who will take this to supreme court. I have case laws ,supreme court rulings that should have been considered by the redneck night court judge,he would not read them or take them into consideration. This is a sad sad day for me. This has been going on for over a year and has cost me,not only 3000.00 dollars over two years for a policy , but an increase from roughly 54.00 a month to 135.00 a month for my policy. I t is comming to an end in July. A new policy is going to cost me roughly 3500.00 a year. So this is Canada EH?

OK, call me stupid, but are you saying it costs you $3500 a year for insurance? On what kind of car? What are car insurance rates across Canada anywhy? Say for a 3 year old mid size sedan? Do you have any "violation Points?"

Got my insurance renewal notice today.
$325/yr with comp and 250 deductible. Some times it pays to drive a ditchpig.

Can you explain that a little better,it sounds like you are saying you got a ticket for not having insurance while you where paying for a policy is this correct?

I was unsured on one car I transferred it to another car. I dorve it for 4 months, it broke down, I at my own stupidtity as it seems so far drove the first car again 15 mionutes before the broker opened up. Had I waited or did not get pulled over , I could have called them and they would have transfered it for me either before i left for work or once I got there. The Problem is the first car is considered a replacment vehicle for a car that had broke down or does not work no more, they say it is not newly aquired. I say it is a replacement , that is in the policy under substitute vehicle. a car that replaces the car titled in the policy.I as I have said could have waitied 15 more minutes and once they opened called them , they would have transfered it for me , and said have a nice day . but they are being jerks.In fact My agent said I could have left a message on the phone re: the transfer of the car.I said well had I known that I would have done so.A week had past. The owner of the brokerage firm got on the phone with me and said" no one in this office ever told you to leave a message on the phone regarding a transfer of policy to another vehicle". I said hmmm. I did not leave a message, and in fact why are you bringing it up now? What are you hiding.The next thing I know My agent gets on the phone and ays this one: " Do what you want we have lawyers". Ummm Did I just pay them for the last 2 years over 3000.00 dollars to have him tell me they have lawyers. Now what would you do? Pay the ticket ir fight it? I am fighting it!

Your going to lose sorry ....you were driving an uninsured car and that is how the judge is going to see it.

Crap... I hope you have some receipts...
Shop around... phone every body and his dog. When I lost my licence, many moons ago, my insurance was gonna jump from 1200 to 2800 a year. After many phone calls, I found a broker that would insure me for 1600. That was in Halifax in the early 90ies. And I have a 65HP, semi-automatic, 4 door, civic.
