It's Newfoundland not New Found Land
my bad sorry, thats why i have the "#1 spieller" medal
***Point!!!***
Newfoundland is not really part of the maritimes anymore than BC is part of the praries. It is part of the Atlantic Provinces. You see, that is because the term "Maritimes" was coined long before Newfoundland was part of Canada. Common misconception.
I mean come on, we have our own time zone that thirty minutes ahead of the rest of Canada, how cool is that!
WOOOHOOO Newfieland!!!!!!!!!!!
Newfoundland kicks ass half an hour before the rest of Canada, and by the way, Labrador is in a different time zone.
Saskatchewan doesn't even bother with any of that. To complicated for us.
Kind of funny across Canada we have many different Time zones:
In newfounland it's time to check my boat and it's time to drink me "screech"
In the Maritimes: it's time to plat potatoes, time to catch the lobsters a time to party and a time to drink.
In Quecbec it's a time to separtate, at time to smoke and a time to go to club supre sex for a drink.
In Ontario it's a time to balance stocks, and bonds a time to ponder what it's like in the center of the universe and a time to drink beer.
In Manitoba, Saskatchewan It's a time to plant grain, In Alberta a time to raise cattle , a time to do everything everyone else in Canada takes for granted and a time to raise our glasses on high at the end of a workin day.
In BC it's a time of wonder, a time of partying, a time of getting back to business. A time of waking up (since everyone else is up 3-4 hours ahead of us and a time of having another beer.
The yukon and the terrotories North west and Nunivut it's their time to shine . thier time to realize what they have and thier time for another drink.
My oh my a lot of different times everywhere with 1 great thing in common. Gentlemen and Ladies.. raise your Glasses tonight and salute Canada. cause I do believe if I am not mistaken miss.. It's time for another beer. LOL
Saskatchewan does use time zones...you just don't alternate between daylight savings and standard time
Newfoundland is part of "Atlantic Canada" but not part of "The Maritimes". It's not that we wouldn't want those kind, wonderful folks from the rock, it's just the term was given to the three provinces before Newfoundland joined the confederation.
That's why many media programs (news, radio, newpapers) will say "Maritime News" or something but only include the three provinces. Take a look at http://www.canada.com/maritimes/index.html or http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/show/CTVShows/1065812845544_61211386 for examples.
But we all "rant and roar" as you can tell.
Ahhhh, someone tell me the difference between the maritimes and atlantic?
Hey N.B., what do you call a Newfie who can't swim?
