$1:
Tolls on the Coquihalla Highway will be removed immediately, Premier Gordon Campbell announced Friday during his annual address to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities in Penticton.
Yah! I don't travel the route too much anymore since I live in the city, but still about twice a year. One of my friends will be happy, he travels between Hope and Merrit at least once a month.

This will be good for trucking companies and independent truckers, but I can't see it making any real difference to the traveling public.

It's about goddamn time.

more money in travelers pockets to pay the BC carbon tax!
Anyone else think this is a mixed message from Gordon Campbell's B.C. Liberals?
Carbon Tax!
Reduced cost to travel from Kamploops to Vancouver!
Mixed Message I say...

The Coquihalla hasn't needed the toll booths for years now, so if don't want to think cynically, you could see it as Campbell going back to his ideological roots.

Westy... you really have to understand that Gordon' Campbell's Liberals are actually right wing.

I agree with xerxes... it's about time. The toll was never meant to be permanent.
all Liberals are right wing.

In BC they are.
BC Liberals only seem right wing because the Left Wing Church of Hate is incapable of admitting that they are all a bunch of corrupt bastards and idiots.
