Hello, I'm kinda new to this site and I was just wondering where the people of B.C. would like to live. Lower Mainland or South Okanagan. I myself live in Penticton, and like it here. City of festivals, Iron Man Canada, Peach Fest, nice tempuratures, skaha bluffs, Okanagan & Skaha lake, etc. but I do like Vancouver and area. So just let me know where you guys would like to live and the pros and cons of the area you live in.

Either area is good. The Okanagen has fruit orchards aplenty and nice weather, but it can get too hot sometimes. For me, I'm happier being close to Vancouver, good concerts, moderate weather, but aggrivating traffic.

Go to Abbotsford B.C, thats where all the old peoples homes are. Nice quiet and peaceful.

I love Vancouver.

Went for a biek ride all along the beaches today, english bay, jerhica, spanish banks. So nice, so hot so many ppl. Was like it was California. Then in the background you saee the city of glass and the beautiful mountains... don't get much better than that!

Vancouver is a nice place, but I really like Penticton, yeah it can get really hot in the summer but im use to that now, I really like not having 4 million ppl livin here it just makes it so much easier to get around. But if I had to live somewhere else it would for sure be Vancouver.

Sun. Bring it on!

I find Vancouver way too depressing. Rains too much.

You take a shower and you never dry off.

I like Penticton even better than Kelowna because it's just the right size...but gets pretty crowded in the summer with all the tourists.

I love them both, and I live in Victoria. The north Okanagan, especially around Kamloops, is beautiful. And Vancouver, with it's cultural mix, mountains, water, Stanley Park, events and other things to do is fantastic as well. For weather and beauty, come to Victoria. We have half Vancouver's rain and the temperature is rarely below 0 or above 20, the flower count in February and pink snow in March.
Just gotta love BC. And I'm from Saskatchewan. I'll always be from Sask and be proud of it.

I love both areas of BC personally and its nice knowing that both are relatively not that far apart. In the summer its great to get to the Interior and have some fun in the sun on the lake. In the winter you move out to Vancouver/Whistler for some of the worlds best skiing. Not many places on the planet where you can do these wicked activities.

i grew up in Hope, can't say i liked it very much, pretty nice town, but boring if you're into doing fun stuff. I lived in the lower mainland from the time i was born, till the time i graduated from high school and then i moved to Abbotsford. I miss Abbotsford...that was a nice place to live.

I no longer reside in BC, and i miss being close to my family a lot.

I would say that the lower mainland is the best part of the province to live.....just not Hope....LOL

Both areas have their advantages...

Myself, I would love to live in the Okanagan area for the fruit each summer & the thunderstorms.. and the considerably lower levels of annual rainfall.

However, I could probably never live somewhere where I couldn't look up at any given moment, and see my Coastal Range mountains... lol

I believe without saying it the question has been answered. In B.C you can live at the coast and in five hours you can enjoy a weekend in the Okanogan. The other side of the coin is living in the Okanogan and with the aide of Ticketmaster you can travel five hours and see great concerts.
