A tug boat hit her and she died. They just mentioned it on the radio news but I'm sure there will be a huge furor over this.

she died because of political correctness.
the whale should have been airlifted to her pod and that be that.
but no, indians were involved, so now we can't insult them.
instead, we give them money to look after the whale.

where were the natives?
it is 100% the natives fault she is dead.
but then. they did get more money from the gov't.

It is pretty stupid, but lets just leave it at it sucks and is sad but over so oh well.
