herbie herbie:
If I was doing okay, we wouldn't be eligible for these rebates!
I will be voting NDP for more or less the same reason as you. Campbell completely ignores anything "Beyond Hope".
Area 250.... Deadwood....

Curious, what would you like to see him do?

Area 250? What's that.... :P

I am against hidden taxes.
And FOR taxes on consumption (like the GST and Carbon Tax) and tax reduction on income.
Let me make money, and let ME decide on what I do with it. Spend it and get taxed fairly, save or invest it, or give it away.

I've shopped in states where there was 10-15% tax on groceries and there wasn't even a peep let alone as much screaming and carry-on as the carbon tax.

Do you support consumption taxes or just taxes on things you don't use much? Why not have an obesity tax on food, that'll trim some of the fatties out there. How about a culture tax, they could make money off of theaters and sporting events. The fact is the only thing this tax actually does is make Gordon Campbell look like he's doing something about global warming when in fact he isn't. He's made Arnold proud of him and that's all that matters.

Let's not forget that this is an ever-increasing tax which was brought about for some sort of feel-good response to the global-warming/global-cooling/climate change media-driven doomsday scenario. Not only will your gasoline tax rise, but so will the taxation of heating oil, natural gas, you-name-it.
Is this tax suppose to coax/coerce me from driving my vehicle? By the amount of ski-boats and PWC's I saw on the Shuswap this summer (when gas was at its highest) I'd say it didn't work.
Remember, the Libs are COUNTING and budgetting on increased revenue from this tax which sort of defeats the idea of having this tax to save the planet.

"Revenue Neutral"? Give me a break...

When the price of oil drops to 1/3 of peak and it takes months for gas prices to fall, when it goes up a couple bucks and it takes mere seconds for gas to skyrocket, I'm surprised anyone even remembers the carbon tax.

I'm voting for whoever drops the beer tax.

To is to bad that the Liberals are the only chose in BC. I could never vote NDP. If they are going to cut the carbon tax that is good, but they should just get rid of it.

If I'm luck I will get a good third party in my riding.

GoBC @ Sat Feb 07, 2009 12:43 am

Liberal "carbon" tax due to rise again in July...AFTER the Provincial election.

N_Fiddledog @ Sat Feb 07, 2009 12:41 pm

The problem I have with the NDP claiming to be anti-carbon tax is they'd just replace it with something as bad, or worse.

All that crap that addresses an imaginary problem is just as bad. Just check out what's happening in California.

GW initiatives and the financial destruction of California

GoBC @ Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:22 pm

Now that the Liberals show a clear lead (16%) over the NDP, it looks like Gordie and his band of thieves are going to be left holding the bag for the mess they've created...GOOD!
Maybe then, once people realize they've been screwed over worse than anything the NDP could manage, the Libs will be eliminated once and for all like their Socred counterparts did back in the 80's.

RUEZ @ Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:26 pm

People in BC have been burned by the NDP too many times. That's the only reason the Liberals are retaining their popularity.

GoBC @ Sun Feb 15, 2009 7:41 pm

...and likewise, the people of BC will get burned by the Libs, to the tune of $6 billion which makes a Fast Ferry and a deck look rather insignificant now...
You'll see what I mean after 2010.
Remember: You heard it here, first!
