yeah I know they are only gsm... and i wish they would expand their network cause in the long run I'd get more business from it
I've never had problems in Canada, most of my problem are the sticks in Iowa and South Dakota.
Try driving along stretches of the major highways in BC. I know we have lots of mountains, but when you're stopped on the road for several hours because of a major accident where they need to call in rescue choppers, and you have no cel coverage to call for help, you realize how bad it can be.
in newfoundland if you go an hour outside the city of st johns you have no service
Did you not see
$1:
If you live in the sticks too bad.

you too
oh you're one of those

If you're driving between Toronto and Mississauga and you drop calls that's one thing but 1 hour outside a little town like St Johns, I'd say your lucky to get that.
newfoundland is still a big province though so everyone else just doesn't deserve the same technology?

AS much as I dislike phones in general I might indeed use one in an emergency if someone else supplied it. I have not seen good phone service since I was wee and could simply pick up the phone and ask to speak to Aunt Sta.

The joys of competitve capitalism:
I've had my AT&T cellphone account since 1993. I started paying the low rate of $70 per month which gave me 120 minutes after which I was billed .45 per minute.
That same account now is $10 per month before taxes, gives me 1,000 anytime minutes, unlimited calling from 7pm to 8am, no roaming charges anywhere in the USA, *and* I didn't pay for the new Motorola MotoRazr they gave me in July.
