We’re already paying it. Just move the budgets and join some departments. There’s a huge number of cases where people need a bit of help but our system is all or nothing. Single mother who’s on track for promotions and job growth are regularly told that there’s no program to give them a little bit of help. Instead they are told to quit their job and get on mother’s allowance or whatever they call it now. You get help with daycare you have to use the 5 days a week. You only work 4 to f’n bad use it or lose it!! These programs might as well burn the money it’s not helping people. You get sick but don’t have long term disability sell everything you own burn through savings and retirement plans then go on ODSP. You will never get off it or have enough anything but the basics. It can’t be worse than what we have and might actually help beat the circle of poverty

So either you didn't read his explanation (or don't want to read it because you know what's in there and you don't want to know), you didn't understand it, or you don't want to understand it.

I can deal with people who can't understand, as long as they try. You're on your own for the other 2 though. Now, I could let you wallow in your self-imposed ignorance, but I'm not gonna.

   

He just doesn't want to make the tens of thousands of people who administer the other programs unemployed in order to save more than enough money to pay for UBI. Reducing costs and lifting more people out of poverty isn't as appealing to him as the top heavy administrations the governments maintain.
