Karl Marx: I told you so!

Just to be clear, I'm not a communist, nor am I any shade of Marxist.
I'm a Libertarian-Socialist!
I'm just pointing out that Capitalism will ALWAYS fail us.

...and libertarian socialism will always fail as soon as it runs out of non-renewable resources to exploit. If not sooner.
The NDP are great the way they're shooting themselves in the foot. They're going to shut down the oil sands *and* bring us a great socialist utopia. ROFLMAO.

Wow, this has to be one of your most clueless posts yet Burns.
I guess that means I've hit a nerve!
Toro Toro:
I know you're not all that down with math, but let me explain it to you.
I guess you're not down with the facts:
Today's headlines:
$1:
At the open, the Dow Jones plummeted more than 8%, falling below the 8,000 mark for the first time since April 2003.
Wiping out FIVE YEARS of GAINS.
$1:
Canada's TSX Composite index fell more than 500 points to a session low of 9034.
$1:
The FTSE has fallen 1047.9 points this week, the biggest ever fall.
In percentage terms the decline is 21pc , the most since the 28.2pc fall in the week of Black Monday in 1987.
$1:
Overall, the S&P/TSX composite index has fallen 34 per cent this year, but that still puts it among the best performers in the world, if that means anything. By comparison, Germany's benchmark index has fallen nearly 44 per cent, and Japan's Nikkei 225 has fallen 47 per cent.
Is that the math I should be down with?

Laugh away, comrade. Its been a very good year in the Toro household, and for those of us who saw this coming.

I know one other guy from another board who has used this phrase. So, when I extrapolate out to the random population, I get 27!

U.S. foreclosures jumped 75% in 2007 to more than 2.2 million filings

About 25 million U.S. homeowners risk owing more than the value of their homes, according to Bill Gross, manager of the world's biggest bond fund at Pacific Investment Management Co.

BTW, I'm doing just fine, thanks, without profiting from the suffering of others.

Again, I offer my congratulations for profiting off the misery of others. Well done!

I have studied a lot of financial and economic history, including your boy there in the OP. I saw this coming miles away and warned everyone who asked.
I'm also telling you that the Canadian real estate market is going to crash, similar to what has happened here, and no one can do anything about it.
There is more pain to come.

nobody wants communism no one , i consider myself a little right of center. i do think we need some things like health care and highways maybe even rail but for the rest of the economy government has no business in it.

Toro,
I'm not disputing you on this one bit. For my part, I saw this [US housing/financial crash] coming in April of 2006, though I thought it would happen around Jan/Feb of this year.
As for the Canadian housing market, you're absolutely right. The capitalist disease will spread to every corner of the globe. Fortunately, there is a cure!

Nobody here, myself included, is arguing for communism. The last thing a Libertarian-Socialist wants is a massive and powerful state apparatus.
There are better alternatives to capitalism - just open your eyes.
