Canada Kicks Ass
A Few Questions

Would all non-Americans say that if there was a sight called America Kicks Ass, would that mean we were arrogant too?

Why can't Americans cheer for their teams in National competitions without being told to calm down? (We celebrate no differently than anyone else)

I personally have been to Canada and it's a beautiful country. I visited Toronto when i went to see relatives in Michigan. I love the US and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It's not extremely violent the news just chooses to show those parts, and we are not war mongering lemmings as a lot of the world thinks. I can't wait until November when the current administration will be ousted and we can get our footing back as it pertains to diplomacy! But I love America and I think it Kicks Ass too!!

Can't we all just get along!!

You Americans have to stop being so Sensitive! We can good joke about us but you guys seem to have a hard time when it is about you!

I have nothing against Americans, I knew a few and they are very nice people. Its just the population in general that really pisses everyone off, the whole "We are the best", 'We are a World Power", "We need War to boost our Ecomony"....... the list is long.

You need to read more posts here Abe...you'll find that the majority of the "anti-American" posts are actually criticisms of US policy. We aren't slamming Americans, just your leaders. We aren't too gentle with our own leaders either.

Your country takes a lot of flack. Look at what's being said though, not just here but everywhere...it is generally criticism of policy. Something the US has never done is take responsiblity for their actions abroad, that has an effect.

There is also a difference between jingoism..."My country right or wrong"...and patriotism. Something in the psyche of the American right makes them prone to jingoism. Note, I said "American right", not America.

If there was a site called America Kicks Ass, that would be fine. If it was about reality and discussion that would be cool. I've been to a few sites like that. I know a lot of Americans who are like that. The thing is that isn't the face the US puts out to the rest of the world. What the rest of the world sees is "The US kicks ass, everybody else sucks and if they argue we'll blow them up and/or destroy their economy." The response to that is predictable and why I know for sure that people like our very own Wingnut and your very own George Bush are bad Americans as well as being bad people.

I love being able to criticize, I love being able to give my opinion about what I think the government is doing wrong, thatÂ’s patriotism. ThatÂ’s something you cant do in the USA, how dare you criticize the thrown. You are banished forth with from the kingdom of America.

I see and hear people criticize and or agree with our government everyday! It's our right and we're still here.

On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the
United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well
recently and for that, I am truly sorry.

I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't
nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's
a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all
it's not like you actually elected him.

I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees
than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and
better than your own.

I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our
excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than
yours.

I'm sorry we burnt down your white house during the war of 1812. I
notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice.

I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer
but, we Feel your Pain.

I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up
against a crazed dictator, you wanna have your friends by your side. I
realize it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against
Hitler, but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons.

And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly
apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a
thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over
this. We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with.
