Something fun and positive!

B.C. is a cool place and getting better. They are working on my road to Whistler. That road has been pretty rough and after driving up from Washington, I don't want to drive 35 miles per hour all the way to Whistler. Course, all the speed limit signs say to go seventy, then the nice police flag me down. Would be nice to cut the six hour trip down to four hours.

Actually, I wish there was a train from Seattle to Whistler.

The 2010 Olympics is going to be exciting. But there are some little controversies:

I would think that the Capital of Canadian Cool aka CKA has to be British Columbia!

I love my city & all, but I'm pretty concerned about the olympics.

They're hearing from all over that their budget is too small, for both Security & Construction. I also vaguely (I could be wrong) recall hearing at one point that the city had decided against rebuilding the ice arenas, that they had decided that NHL size was plenty big enough. I hope they've realized that NHL size would not be big enough & have changed that.

On the road alright, except it's a toll road and the Nimbys in Vancouver will squash it bcause someone might drive a car, drink a beer or have fun.

I drive to whistler all the time during the ski season, the road is a lot better than it was 2 years ago. Should be good when its done.

I wish they woulda went through the mountain pass above north vancouver though, wouldda made a much shorter and cheaper drive.
But enviromentalists had major problems with that, watershed and all.

Was there ever an olympics that was on budget? same old story. why not just take the estimated cost and times it by 3.

As long as it doesn't turn into a Montreal '76 we'll be fine.

For once I might get a chance to get to the Olympics, depends on winning a drawing on the Whistler timeshare.

We Americans are going to be storming the border. We might even go home afterwards.

According to Wikipedia... the '76 Montreal summer olympics are the most expensive ever. Canada puts on a good party!

I don't think the Vancouver Olympics will cost us like montreal did, it will be over budget, but I think In the long term it will make money.
