:D

Hey everyone. I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I am a young person about to declare my major in College here in the US. My goal is to find a profession that will fast track me through the emigration process in Canada. So, I need to know which skilled professions does Canada need the most or look for the most when considering emigration status.

THanks for your input!

Canada's futute is secured through tar sands. It might not be the nicest but it's the growing industry.

The government has short listed a variety of skills and professions it says are in demand. They call this an "opinion". I'm not sure where it's listed. Mostly it's medicine related jobs. Thses shortages might persist for some years, certainly the doctor shortage has.

Anything to do with politics, and you don't require any particular skills!

Are you able to sell flowers on Yonge street in Toronto? that would fast track you. other than that you can pull up in a Canoe and ask for refugee status.

I'd say welfare, it really seems to work for quite a few. Good luck.

Your best bet would to do something you like and work for a company that has branches in Canada. Then after moving up a bit, ask to relocate to a branch or office in Canada. Or just be really good at your job and apply for a open position in Canada.

You will have better luck doing something you like, moving up in the field then immigrating...instead of spending all your money and time on something you really don't like just to move to Canada and then pretty much dreading your job the rest of your life.

And if that doesn't help. You could always move as close to the border as you can. Then while you live there make frequent trips to Canada and look for a job or a love partner ;)

We'll be needing another Liberal party leader from the USA fairly soon.

Euhm, all you political sweetypies... Immigrants cant even vote, let alone be in any political party... Kinda moot point eh?

In calgary, there's an extreme shortage of drive thru workers that can take your order without screwing it up. Don't go to university, they might think you are overqualified.
