ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A Canadian acquitted last year of illegally stockpiling warheads at his counterterrorism training school in Roswell is suing Halliburton Co.

David Hudak of Vancouver contends Halliburton, the Houston-based company that sold him nearly 2,500 warheads, defrauded him by offering the devices at a deep discount for use in his demolition business and telling him he could legally buy them. Hudak spent 17 months in prison while awaiting trial for possessing the military explosives.

In a prepared statement, Halliburton officials said the 10 years that have passed since the sale of the warheads make this a difficult case to investigate.

It shouldn't be difficult to investigate at all, contrary to Halliburton's claims. There will be a paper trail detailing what they were supposed to do with the warheads (destroy them) and what they actually did (sell them). Hey, wasn't Dick Cheney CEO of Halliburton ten years ago?

That's about as crooked as a business deal gets isn't it?

This company needs to suffer a few big lawsuits, maybe they'd clean up their act a bit.

Halliburton is so tied in with the Bush's they are virtually untouchable...

( I just got done watching Fareheit 9/11 yesterday and it explains all the connections and stuff. Pretty scary crap, but not surprising )

Interesting viewing...

Oh I agree Avro... I never take anything at full value... and Moore's opnion are just that...his.
But what I was talking about was the facts of who has been ceo's of what major corps. and the investors and such...that was what I thought was interesting...Michael Moore is just like any other reporter... they all have their own slant and it's just a matter of realizing what the facts are and forming your own opinion from there...

I do think it should be mandatory that all voters should watch and discuss it before they are allowed to vote though.. .imo

Not only did David Hudak have to spend a year and a half in prison, but he lost his company as well. People should be persecuted as far up the Haliburton chain as this goes. And yea, I'm willing to bet it goes all the way to Cheney.

Whether it reaches him ot not, he is ultimately responsible unless he can prove that Halliburton notified the government and helped prosecute those within the company who were involved.

why is a company in the oil business selling warheads to an individual. This is a little frightning when individuals can sell armement to one another. But no worries says the right, just continue to watch your tv and well take care of evreything else.

That's insane. But how didn't the federal agents not track the warheads back to Halliburton after raiding the guy's business? You would think they would want to track down where they came from.

To really understand, you have to start at the beginning. During the first Bush presidency Cheney, a member of the Bush cabinet, was given the task of down-sizing the military. He did so by hiring Halliburton (very lucrative contract) to privatise as much of the military as possible.

When Clinton got elected, Dick was unemployed so Halliburton hired him as CEO...kind of a reward to him for swinging that big contract his way. In return for the job, Cheney got Halliburton massive access to other Washington insiders.

It's basically neptism tied up with criminality. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

it's ironic then that the bush administration tried so hard to label alquaida enemy combattant, when they let private military contracts go to private companies. I think under the definition that bush and all them under bozos concocted, halliburton could now be seen as an enemy combattant. But this is differant, right?
