Canadians don't hate the United States.
PJB @ Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:19 pm
I am only second generation Canadian. My father was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan but his parents came from Minnesota. I have many relations, more there than here, that live in the United States and I have nothing but love for them.
Canada and the United States are more similar that we care to admit. Neither country have had the misfortune of having another country attempt to invade and force their idealologies upon us. We have never fought to keep our homelands ours, other than a couple of border skirmishes that can be called growing pains.
Can we not see the similarites that make this North America unique in the world rather than see the differences that make us the way we are?
Really? I know several of my peers hate the USA with every bone in their body.
fiz63 @ Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:25 pm
Non.
there has been simular threads to this, but what the heck.
I definatly do not hate the us or americans, I disagree with a lot of there policy and don't like certain people.

this is wrong though, the states tried to invade Canada (British North America) in the war of 1812

Godz46 Godz46:
[size=12]I'd like to believe that PJB. But the truth is if you give Canadians the choice of building 100 new fully staffed, fully funded hospitals...or killing 100 000 American soldiers...they'll choose the later.
You won't believe the amounts of "America got what it deserved on 9/11" I received when I went back to Canada in 2002. Or the amount of cheering I heard in restaurants or cafes when the radio announced American soliders were killed in Iraq.
What a load of Bullshit.
Goof46 has gone off the deep end and doesn't have a clue how to swim.

"America got what it deserved on 9/11"
OK...I know if I heard a Canadian saying this, then the poor bastard would have to peel a fucking Newfie off him!

......I don't love the states, but NOBODY deserves a thing like that.

Or the amount of cheering I heard in restaurants or cafes when the radio announced American soliders were killed in Iraq
I call BULLSHIT....Once again...if I, as a Canadian, heard this....start peeling.
$1:
Or how about the countless amount of boos we hear during the American Anthem in Hockey Games when the NHL season was on
This happen shortly after the States INVADED...but we won't get started on that again...Iraq. This made the news all across Canada Godz....Don Cherry himself said he was ashamed. In Calgary, the radio stations encourage people to cheer to show Americans that we don't hate, we disagree....look up the meanings...there is a difference.

Chretien stated that the US deserved 9.11 "becuase of its greed"?
We heard you say this pile of shit before.....some pointed out the truth to you....

How about the countless flag burings we see in every protest?
Gezz...I'm Canadian, I've yet to see this. Let's see a link please.

What about the American novice hockey players who were hassled and threatned in Quebec City during a tournament?
Show me a link please.

How the fact that MP's countinusly call the Americans "Bastards" and "Morons"?
OK...1....see that number Godz....1 MP called Americans, on 1 occasion, bastards, and she was refering to the government. She did later appologize, shouldda been fired in my opinion. It was George Bush who was refered to as the moron....not the American people.....and he is a moron...imho.
$1:
Canadians don't hate Americans? Bullshit!
I'm a Canadian, I don't hate Americans.
On a side note. I'm sure I've asked you this before Godz....have you heard the pop yet?
thank you for those comments canadian1971, spoken like a true Canadian
hamm_y @ Tue Mar 22, 2005 5:04 pm
Godz, you make Canadians out to be a pack of wild wolves who's primary goal in life is to see the destruction of the US. Don't flatter yourself, we have our own country to look after and focus on. And I'd like to meet the sick basterd who gave you the impression that the majority of Canadians would choose 100,000 dead American soldiers over 100 fully staffed hospitals.
I can only speak for myself here on in, but I disagree with the US, but my best friend and boyfriend are both American citizens. If I let a little thing like nationality govern who I liked and disliked then I would be missing out on two amazing people.
Just ignore Godz...he's an idiot and a congential liar.
Your family is from Wadena, PJB? Cool. One of my great aunts lived there for a while.
wow godz u really are a shit disturber !! i have never heard such filth... noone would ever choose 100000 soldiers deaths over hospitals or anything for that matter... lol what an idiot
All Canadians are very nice to me when I visit Canada. But, I just go to Whistler, shop in Alberta and Victoria, etc. I don't do much hockey or hang out in the sleeze joints. The only place I have heard the hostility is in the news and on this site.
God knows I get a lot of Canadians around the Seattle, Washington area - they are just regular folks. Honestly, this is no BS... but Canadians I have talked to are more critical of Canada than they are of the U.S. - mostly in terms of taxes and job opportunities. But I could just as easily be talking to someone from Montana. We are pretty much the same.

I am a Canadian
i do not like America as a nation, including it's business and government.
Do i hate America? no.
Do i hate Americans? No.
Do i hate aspects of America? Absolutely.
I'm sure a lot of Canadians will agree with me on those.
