I don't know about you but i travel to the US a lot for soccer over the summer
( Victoria to Seattle mostly ) and it can be frustrating. Something i noticed is that it takes 1-2 hours to get INTO the US and we have to take all our bags off the bus. Theres 4 teams so it can take awhile. Going into Canada it takes literally 5-10 mintues and we never had to get off once. Funny or something to be concerned about?

Is Canada's border too careless  or are the Americans too strict  ?

Are there Muslim-Canadians on your team?

I find it the opposite crossing at the Peace Arch border in White Rock, BC. I get more hassel coming back into Canada than when entering the US.

I'm sure its different all over the place, depending on the size and location of the cities.

Not necessarily. Last year, a friend and I were on the way to Spokanne and crossed the border in Trail. The Us guards marched us (hands on the hips at the ready) out of the car, asked us a bunch of questions, searched his car, and subjected us to FOX news. Coming back across the same border crossing, the Canadian guy was casual as can be and waved us through

Mind you, my friend has hippie length hair, so that might have had something to do with it.

I've crossed the border quite a bit, and it really just depends on the officer you get and if they are in a good mood or not, IMO.

thats exatly my point, should Canada be more strict with their border instead of just 'waving people on in'?

Why should we? We don't have to worry that much about terrorists coming to attack us. Our people do a good job so why give people a bad initial impression about Canada by having power-tripping border guards?

It wouldn't be a bad intial impression to ask a few more questions and yes they do a good job :D . I was just wonder about other people's experiences with crossing the border and if they think anything should be changed on either side.

Oh that Fox news!! They are so horrible!! They report from a different political slant then the majority of news channels. They are so dangerous the Canadian government banned them until recently. We are so much more progressive then those closeminded Americans.

Dude, you really need to settle down. I was trying to be a bit cheeky and judging from your reaction, it didn't work (again).
