Maybe Canada should also claim Jupiter another place where you can't live or defend. While Canada and Denmark plant flags on barren rocks, America and Russia will be dropping flags on the Arctic Ocean floor. Whatever treaty we all setup for Antarctica, we should establish for the Arctic... but wait! The Arctic is underwater... and that is covered by the International Law of the Sea.
We'll just have Denmark defend the waterways... They have some cool ships.

Personally, I think it's about damn time that Canada started taking her sovereignty seriously. Maybe Canada will take it seriously enough to invest in guarding the northern four fifths of her territory with something more substantial than dog sled teams.
We are, we have invested in multiple bases in the Artic. We also have Canadian Forces that are speceficly going to be protecting the Artic border as there job, which means patrolling it, and working in the bases etc. We have bought ice breaking ships, and have bought a bunch of other shit.

Every single country is being as Psycho as Canada is about the Artic, 20 years ago everybody diddn't want anything to do with the Artic, except for Canada. Now, everybody wants a piece of it. 20 years ago, Canadians were considered people of the Artic, well the Inuits were but they are also Canadian. Now everybody considers themselves the people of the Artic

Do you understand how Important this is to Canada? If we don't get this, this will allow International passage which is bad for us. Allowing Military vessels to get so close to Canada. Though I diddn't like that Jupiter comment, how do you know we cannot defend it? We haven't even got a chance to prove it.
